I did a search on this but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if all the rooms are now refurbished in the Tower and the South Garden Wing? We have a Grand Gathering planned for September and my DDIL has her heart set on staying there. She saw the pictures online of the refurbished rooms and really liked the look of them. ::yes:: I have to admit that I thought they looked very nice too. :) I told her this resort doesn't have a lot of the Disney theming, but she wasn't really interested in the theming. :confused3 She was very impressed with the decorating in the room. She also wanted a larger room to spread out since they will be there for a week. I showed her several of the other deluxe resorts and she didn't care for the decorating as much as she did at the CR.

BTW this is her first trip to Disney. Besides DDIL, it will be my DS and DGD, who will have just turned 2 by the time they go. All my other kids and grandkids who are going want to stay at POP due to costs. Now I'm torn and don't know if I should stay at CR with DS or at POP with my other kids. :confused:

Thanks for any information!

We stayed in the south wing over the Christmas holidays.. The room was AWESOME.. we had towel animals every day:cool1: the girls were soo excited to come back to the room and find them in various places. The computer was a nice plus (even tho we hauled the laptop) I was not sure if ALL the rooms had computers :confused3 The cousins who stayed in the Poly were bummed as they really wanted computer access.. yup we loaned em the laptop. :O)

I really miss the bed:cloud9: .. but Dh complained it made him "hot" so we had the ac cranked way down at night. The fireworks :scared1: DD the first nite as we were not expecting them .. yea silly us back in the room around wishes time.. lol those early mornings were what saved us this holiday trip.. not as crowded.. several days we just lounged on the beach and DD's enjoyed the slide... It was a rare treat for us since we always camp at fort wilderness.. yea we even took the boat over so DD could play on the playground, since the one at the contemp is closed.

any more questions feel free to pm

missing Disney world...

Trish, thanks for all the info. Glad you liked the resort. The rooms really do look nice. DDIL was trying to get a garden wing but could only get a tower room MK view at the discounted rate. Now she has to decide if she wants to pay more for the tower room, which is about $600 more.

My personal opinion is the MK view is worth whatever extra it costs. It's a very breathtaking view & you will not be disappointed by it.

you are quite welcome.. we too could have booked a tower room but opted not to since it was the holiday season and the prices were a bit crazy.. the entire hotel was booked while we were there, when we checked in there were people asking to move to another resort,since they could not get a tower room. To DH it's still a place to sleep.. yea till he saw the TV.. can't get that flat screen in our travel trailer :rotfl:

oh yea and the cousins paid way more we did and they were at the Poly.. what's that deal? my dd 6 was afraid of the tiki people in their bathroom.. I think they were on the lights hmm looks like it may be a while before we splurge for the Poly.

::yes::

That's great because we went ahead and booked the Tower room MK view this morning. :cheer2: :cheer2: I'm all excited for them and now I want to stay there myself!! :banana: :banana: They got 7 nights, 8 day PH with DDP. If our other kids weren't staying at Pop, I probably would stay there also. ::yes::

Is there anything I should request for them, like a certain floor or area? They have a 2-year old and this is both their first trip since they were both children, more than 20 years ago, so there have been a lot of changes since then. ;)

I can imagine what the cost for the tower room was at Christmas! :eek:

My DS was impressed that they had the flat screen TV too. He only wants to watch HD TV now that they have one! ;)

I'm sure they're going to love this resort and hopefully, they'll want to keep coming back with us every year when we go!! :cool1:
