My boyfriend and I (he's 29 and I'm 31, no kids) are booked at the Contemporary Resort (Tower Bay Room)for 9/26 through 10/05/2008. We were thinking of switching to the Beach Club for the same dates. We will also plan on visiting WDW again in Devember 2009. Which hotel would you choose and why? Thanks in advance for your help. ~Val

It really depends on your taste and if you like the MK or Epcot better. I love the BC's pastel colors, I love the New England seaside theme, and the pool can't be beat. In my opinion, it's the prettiest hotel on Disney property. Added to that, the walk to Epcot through the International Gateway is unbelievably convenient. It's a REAL long walk from the front of Epcot to the World Showcase. I happen to prefer the MK to Epcot, and in fairness to the Contemporary, it's great being on Bay Lake, right next to the MK. I love being at a MK resort and being able to watch Wishes from right outside my hotel. You can walk to the MK (or take a boat) from the Contemporary to the MK. This really beats going to the TTC and ferrying or taking the monorail to the MK. My vote is still for the BC, though, because I just think that the Contemporary is ugly. I dislike the retro futuristic look, and even though they've redone the rooms, I still don't think they're pretty. I've never actually stayed there, and some people absolutely love it, so it really depends on your personal taste. Honestly, either hotel has good points, so I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever you pick .

Beach Club..no comparison. It is an amazing resort, and so accessible to both MGM, and Epcot. While the Contemporary has it's fans, I'm sorry to say, I'm just not one of them. The resort has NO appeal to me what so ever. So, the monorail goes through it..okay..other than that..I find it very unappealing. Sorry, don't want to offend it's fans, but that's just my opinion. The Beach Club is so much newer and it's New England Seaside theme is incredibly pleasant. The Cape May Cafe is one of our favorite Disney restaurants. The convenience of taking a liesurely stroll into Epcot in the evenings is great. There is also a short water launch ride into MGM. I would also think being a young couple the Boardwalk area, with it's restaurants and nightlife would be another reason the Beach Club would be a good choice. It is located directly across the Beach Club and you can either walk or take the water launch.

My vote was for the Contemporary. Besides staying that close to the Magic Kingdom you have the Monorail right there anytime you would want to use it and their rooms were just renovated, which is one thing you can not say about the Beach Club. Also by September all the renovations taking place inside will be 100% finished and what is happening outside where the North Garden Wing use to be has no effect on anyone staying there.

I would stay with the Contemporary. The CR rooms were just renovated amking them some of the nicest rooms on property. The views from the outstanding, in my opinion much better than what you would find at the at the Beach Club. You have acess to the monorail which will get you to Epcot and the MK very quickly....At BC you will have to take a bus to the MK, not nearly as fast as the monorail from CR. You can also walk to MK from CR. At CR you have monorail/boat acess to many other resorts. Great selection of restaurants at CR......and my list just goes on.....

Stay at CR!!!!! Any Questions feel free to PM me.

I'm going with the Beach Club...

While I'm in love with the new rooms at the Contemporary, that's about it. The room decor is VERY adult friendy and the tower rooms offer amazing views. I love the idea of being on the monorail and in walking distance to the MK, but I think those are even more important with kids along. I'm not a huge fan of the pool area and the overall resort itself is very "cement-like" to us. We enjoy being on bay lake and renting the water mice and being able to see the electric water pagent from your room at night is a huge plus! To us though, the Contemporary is a "hotel" and not a "resort."

We'd pick the Beach Club over the Contemporary for a variety of reasons but mainly the location! For two adults, you can't beat it! We loved being in walking distance to Epcot and MGM and a short boat ride away. While we love the Magic Kingdom, we spend more time at Epcot and Animal Kingdom these days. The location of the resort provided us with easy access to the boardwalk entertainment and dinning as well. We loved grabbing a drink at the ESPN Club or Jellyrolls, and nothing having to worry about getting back to the resort; you just had to walk!
Outside of the location, the Beach Club has an amazing pool complex which is great to beat that late summer heat. We loved walking out to the beach at night and watching the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk across the lake. Plus, the resort is now showing evening movies on the beach (weather permitting).
Overall the Beach Club just gave us that "getaway resort" feel where at times we didn't even feel like we were in Disney, yet were so close to the magic.

I definitely go for the Beach Club for the area and the Epcot access. The Food and Wine Festival at Epcot should start around the time you are going.

I voted for the Beach Club, but only if you plan on doing the Food and Wine festival at Epcot. It is wonderful to be able to just take a short stroll and be in the World Showcase. Especially if you plan on visiting all of the food booths, and basically just munching your way around the Showcase.

If that doesn't appeal to you, then stay at the Contemporary. It is awesome to be able to walk to the Magic Kingdom. Plus, you are only a short monorail ride away from Epcot.

I actually like the Contemporary better than the Beach Club, but both resorts are nice. Was this any help at all?:upsidedow

BC, no question:thumbsup2
the weekend nightlife on the boardwalk is great for a childless couple,Make ressies for Spoodles!:lovestruc :worship:

I am not sure if this would have any effect on the OP's decision, but the Contemporary is the only WDW Resort to have computers in every guest room with free internet access.

BC because of location to epcot world showcase and the boardwalk. i just like this area better than MK. Very nice hotel as well.

Thanks to everyone who both answered the poll / answered the poll and replied. Even though the poll results don't suggest this...We are going to stick with the Contemporary Tower Room with Bay Lake view and hope a Magic Kingdom view opens up. The monorail is a huge thing for us, as well as all the restaurant options available at the Contemporary. Once again to everyone who took the time to reply, We appreciate your help. Safe travels. :) ~Val

Thanks for answering all the posts you do about the Contemporary. Your throw in about the computer access made me laugh. My boyfriend loves the Contempoaray as much as you do, and hated to see it failing so badly in the poll results. We have decided on the Contemporary though...so again thanks for replying and all your expertise on the Contemporary. :) ~Val

You're welcome and this maybe biased since the Contemporary is my favorite Resort, but I think you made the right decision keep your reservation there. Since you said having the Monorail is a huge thing for you it makes sense to stay there. Anyway have a great time staying there and hopefully you will get lucky that a Magic Kingdom view will become available.
