Hi. Considering a stay at the Contemporary resort( garden wing) mainly due to a low price for a deluxe reaort in June How are the garden wing rooms? How is the pool?

I loved my Garden Wing room when I stayed in it a couple of summers ago!!

Can't help with the pool as I don't do public pools.

Loved it last year! Room was big, two queen beds. The price was great compared to the tower rooms. Very easy to walk to MK, and to the tower for food, drinks. Didn’t use the pool that time, but it was always crowded, and very close to the building.

I’m personally not a fan of the Garden Wing (I’m a Tower guy, I cant lie), but it’s a great option to stay at a monorail resort at a cheaper price than other options. Garden Wing does have a following of fans - those that enjoy it often cite the peace/quiet, easy parking (if you drive), not having to deal with the Tower elevators, and some (although certainly not all) rooms have pretty nice views of the waterway or lake. I don’t love that the second and third floors don’t have balconies - non issue for some of course. You can take the stairs easily but the elevators in the Garden Wing are pretty small and slow if you need them.

Like everywhere, some pros and cons, but no major deal killers IMO.

Good luck deciding.

🙋🏻‍♀️ one of those fans for all the reasons stated. Well, except the parking coz we fly in. I might not like it as much if we had strollers or ECVs to deal with. But being able to use the escalators to restaurants & the monorail is much more convenient than waiting for the often crowded elevators.

Also, the garden wing rooms are the same decor as the tower rooms. They were redone about a year after the tower rooms.

Last time we went with 2 other families, some stayed in the Contemporary tower while some others were in the Garden Wing. Both worked out well as I recall and the Garden Rooms were cheaper. The Tower lake view has lots to see from the balconies. I don't think the extra cost for the Tower MK view is worth it since you mostly look at a parking lot and in the distance you can only really see the tops of the tallest buildings at MK.

We stayed in the Tower and never had any issues with the elevators or noise that some other talk about. As I recall, the Tower was originally constructed with modular rooms they built off-site and then slid into place. This means each room has a double wall, so it actually seems much quieter than the typical hotel.

We used the pool a couple of times since there were small children in our party. Pool was fine as I recall, but not really the main reason we go to Disney. We liked to walk TO MK in the morning, but would return via the monorail once everyone was tired of walking. It was great having the Contemporary as the next stop once you boarded the monorail.

We stayed in a Contempo Garden Wing room for the first time in November 2023 and really liked it. One of the "pros" is that it has its own parking lot, which is very convenient. Another plus is that it was quiet and a very short walk from the main tower. Didn't use the pools, though, so can't comment on those. Overall, I'd definitely stay there again. We're returning in November 2024 but lucked out and got a Tower room (convention rate) this time; we've stayed in a Tower room before and loved it--one of our favorite on-property places to stay. The convenience of the monorail and close proximity to MK (as well as the MK buses for easy access to other resorts) can't be beaten!

We stayed in the Garden Wing in August and loved it. The walk to the tower for food and mug refills was covered and not bad at all. As an introvert, avoiding those tower elevators is fantastic. We also drive, so our transportation was right out the door. It is very peaceful and calm in the garden wing while the tower is always bustling and busy.

The pool STINKS. It is no deeper than 3 feet anywhere. It may deeper at the slide splash down, but all of the depth markers from where I was read 3 feet.

Overall, the Contemporary is one of my favorite resorts because of the short walk to Magic Kingdom. I’ve stayed in a theme park view room before, but found a fantastic rate on the garden wing. I was a little nervous about not being in the tower, but I loved the garden wing and would absolutely stay there again.

The bullseye pool which is adjacent to the main pool is 5ft in the center. One of my fav places.

I often go to both pools when I go to the pool area. It’s all close together. I like you have a nice view of bay lake and the boats going back and forth resorts and park.

I have stayed in many of the CR categories. While we prefer the tower I do still stay in the wing some trips mainly due to price. I have it booked for Dec for the walk to MK.

Rooms pretty close to the same size, just no balcony for GW. I do request 1st floor for balcony but only have gotten that once. At least the upper floors have nicer views so that’s a good thing.

We probably wouldn’t do garden wing. Have stayed there once and theme park view once. While we could hear a little noise in our room in the tower it wasn’t anything horrible. We just feel like part of the draw of the contemporary (well for us) is the excitement from looking down to the 4th floor. It’s fun to walk out of your room and look down to everyone having fun at chef mickeys.

I will say (as someone else mentioned) we were a little disappointed in the theme park view. I really didn’t look at pictures before hand and didn’t know it was just going to be a parking lot. Yeah the fireworks were nice but you can go to the 4th floor to see those. The castle is pretty far away looking do not much of a look at that. If we go back to CR we will try the bay lake view.

We have stayed in both the tower and garden wing rooms multiple times and have enjoyed each for different reasons.

It is quieter in the garden wing, but it can be a lengthy walk to the tower depending on your room location. The lack of upper-floor balconies is disappointing for some folks. The proximity to the parking lot and pool is a plus, although the pool area is rather bland. (It’s fine for me, but not too exciting for kids.) The garden wing rooms are quite roomy and comfortable, identical to the tower rooms.

The tower is definitely a busy and bustling place. It is nice to have quick access to food and beverages in the same building, but the elevators can be quite slow. The rooms are spacious and newly renovated. We enjoy the TPV rooms, but lake-view rooms are also lovely and less expensive.

Since we are DVC members, most of the time we will opt for BLT when considering a stay at the CR. We sometimes will book a concierge room for a night or two when a discount is available. But while we enjoy the resort, I’m not crazy about the new room design.

We have stayed in the Garden Wing and really loved it. At first I was not thrilled with being on the first floor, but having the patio with chairs was great. If we had neighbors, we never knew it. It was very quiet and relaxing. The walk to the tower is very easy as well as the walk to the buses. The restaurants there were all great as well as the lounge. Hopefully we will be able to stay there again.

I love staying anywhere in the CR. we have stayed in the garden wing as well as in the tower and tower CL. Loved all three stays. I really don't like the new 'design' of the CR rooms so I am not excited about staying there at the moment. But if you like the 'Incredibles' theme, the rooms are large and comfortable and the location next to the MK can't be beat. Although there is no balcony on the upper floor rooms in the GW, the patio doors do slide open. It is still a very nice place to stay. The pools are very plain, but they look out over the water and are fine. we enjoyed using them.

This is pretty much our experience too. The tower's price point has always been too high on dates we've gone, but we've been able to swing GW rooms.

The best room we had was probably one of the furthest from the main building ,but it was a first-floor water-view room with the patio. We've really liked the other rooms too, we've been on all three floors over our (4?) stays in the GW. I didn't like the rooms facing the pools because that one stay was kind of noisy but not horrible.
