Canon Rebel Xsi, 10-22 lens @ 10mm

Hi Bob

You have some really neat shots! Do you Photoshop them after they're taken with your Canon? If so can you tell me how you get that look. I'd really like to try that with some of my photos!!

Thanks
Andy

WOW! Love that pic:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 ....Is that the REAL SKY in the background or did you impose that in?????

One more question please...What kind of camera do you use?

That is the real sky. However, the image is made up of three exposures, capturing the detail in the interior, the sky, and the shadows.

Here are the three exposures:

If I had used only the exposure for the sky the interior would be hopelessly dark; if I used the one for the interior the sky would be completely washed out. HDR is just great!

For this trip I used a Canon Rebel Xsi.

that is amazing! I recently purchased the rebel xssi, but would have no idea how to do that...any pointers? or good places to look for pointers? I would love to learn to take photos like that.

Probably the best sources of information are Trey (stuck in customs) and Photomatix. HDR is not difficult, the Rebel has an AEB function that automagically takes the three images in sequence. A tripod and remote shutter release help a lot. I usually use P mode on the Rebel but for HDR the Av mode is best to avoid changing the aperture between images (which would change depth of field). Most of the time I set it to f/8 and fire away! :)

Once we have the three images (preferably in RAW) the HDR software combines them and we can move some sliders to get the effect we want.

Try it, HDR is fun! There are more at: http://suzieandbob.com/wdw/feb_09/HTML/index.htm
