Thanks for all the pictures. They have gotten me super excited for my 1st ever stay at CR in less than 4 1/2 months!

If you get upgraded at check in - GREAT! but if not, let's have a look at what we can expect! Now that I've made final payment, I am getting really more and more excited! Tomorrow I can finally say, next month I am going to Disney! YAAAYYY

Im guessing that the View is nothing special or we would see more pictures...I really dont care if I get a crappy view as long as Im at the Contemporary...Im just curious more than anything. Mikki, WUV, KFJames, et al. -- I can't really show you photos of standard views from inside the the garden wing, but maybe these will help you visualize what your view will be like.

These are most of the standard/parking lot view rooms as I shot them from the monorail (thus the concrete rail running through the middle of my photo!). The blue awning covers the main entrance, which you'll see again in the photos below. Note that trees and shrubs block the view of the parking lot for most of the rooms:

This shot was taken just a second later, showing the garden wing rooms that front the canal -- these are probably considered water view, but at the left of the photo are probably standard view rooms not shown in the photo above:

This is a shot of the parking lot I took from the sidewalk that runs between the garden wing and the tower (see the monorail track on the right?):

This photo was taken from the same spot as the one above, but I moved the camera slightly to my left and zoomed in -- it is the main entrance to the garden wing. Again, note the landscaping which probably blocks most of the parking lot view from the rooms:

These corner rooms are really cool. They're super large and they were called a junior suite when we stayed in one about 5 years ago. They've since been redecorated and I think they're called something else now.

Lots more garden wing rooms facing the pool . . .

. . . and those large rooms at the very end were recently converted to one bedroom suites.

The white sand beach begins behind the pool chairs. You can see a large patch of the beach where the man is sitting under the umbrella, behind the guy that walked into my picture.

Thanks for the photo post of the GV rooms. Those ones bordering the pool look pretty good!

One obvious benefit to the GV rooms - parking looks a lot closer than the Tower rooms!

Looking at your countdown, I think we are going to be there at the same time! We arrive on 11th December. It will be our 2nd time at MVMCP, you'll love it.

I snapped these as we were running to catch a cab at the main entrance about 2 weeks ago, so sorry they aren't better composed. Most of the plantings seemed tropical. The only tree I could identify were two rows of magnolias (visible on the extreme right and left of the 3rd photo).

There aren't many places at WDW where you can park so close to your room! Seriously, if those are the worst rooms CR has to offer, then you can't go wrong with the CR!! When you see them in person, you'll see how nice they really are. I'd have taken photos but there were people sitting on their patio and I didn't want to invade their privacy.

I was thinking a motel ground floor parking lot view. I really just can't wait til we get there! I will definately take some more pics also and someone here will have to tell me how to post them!

Yes, they were taken October 18.

We had to take a parking lot view at another Disney resort once (Boardwalk Villas) and thought "Ugh" -- but were very surprised at how little of the parking lot we could actually see through all the vegetation planted around our balcony. We were on the second or third floor. I'll bet it's the same at the CR.
