My family is planning another trip down Orlando to the Walt Disney World Resorts. We have always stayed at the Art of Animation but due to the bus schedules and the long lines we've decided to try one of the Resort's where we can just jump on the monorail. Could anyone tell me those two Resorts have like one bathroom or two? To having these at the Art of Animation family Suite but we need a change. Also we are a family of four but the girls did not sleep together well so just wondering if the greens are nice size. just don't know which resort to stay in! thanks for your input!

Standard rooms at CR and Poly have one bathroom.

Note that both resorts use buses to reach AK and HS, and those buses are shared with other resorts.

I love both resorts but for the past few years we've stuck with the contemporary and love it. It's so nice to be able to quickly walk back and forth to the mk without waiting for a monorail or boat. The mk view rooms feel like we're staying right in the mk and the view of the fireworks is amazing.

We moved over to the contemporary from the poly when all of the renovations started at the poly. Now, I don't think we'all go back. The new bungalows block a lot of the views and you can't walk to the mk.

Also, we always eat at the California grill and chef mickeys every trip so the contemporary is just better for us.

I should also mention that we really like having everything in the same bldg. the poly is all spread out. There's the lobby bldg and then you have to go outside to walk to your bldg. At the contemporary, the arcade, gift shops, front desk, restaurants, etc are all in the tower and we stay in the tower. Even if you stay in the garden wing, there's a covered walkway that connects to the tower. I do like the poly theme.

The standard rooms are pretty similar... one bathroom and 2 double beds plus a daybed. We have 3 kids and my oldest son always gets the day bed.

Have a great trip!!

These are both good resort choices given what you describe for several reasons:

- All standard rooms have a daybed (couch that can fold into a bed).
- Both have among the largest rooms on property.

The large majority of rooms at both resorts are standard rooms - 2 queens and a daybed. There are a few larger suite-type rooms at each but they are materially more expensive than standard rooms - like WAY more expensive.

Note that standard rooms in each have one bathroom.

From a physical room layout standpoint, I consider both of these VERY equal. I'd go with whatever resort/theming is most appealing.

BTW - I love BOTH, but each for different reasons.

Booked no cash or a DVC rental, A Polynesian Studio villa has a full bathroom with tub/shower combo, plus a 2nd partial bathroom with a sink and shower (but no toilet) that's still quite useful when multiple people get ready at the same time.
The room has a queen bed, pull out couch with a full bed, and a Murphy bed (that folds down under the TV)
Plus there's the kitchenette with sink/microwave/refrigerator. And all villas have a balcony or patio.

I agree. I don't think you can go with either, just depends which theme/decor appeals to you the most.

Polynesian.
The contemporary seems like a hotel that would be themed to the airport. The walk to magic Kingdom vs taking a boat or monorail from the poly isn't a big difference. the ambiance at the poly will make you look forward to going back to your hotel after a day at the parks. The tiki torchlit walkways, trader sams, firework viewing from the beach, its got it all.
btw the beds are queen size at the deluxe resorts. I think they are full size at the art of animation.

Just to add a few comments on the "Monorail" vs Bus. You will still have a Bus to DHS and AK and sometimes even to Epcot if you want to do a Rope Drop morning, keep reading...

The Monorails are really running on empty these days. They have far exceed their planned useful life and passenger load rate with lots of delayed maintenance that is making the "Monorails" less reliable then they were in the past. They have been running on a modified reduced schedule since last April, yes almost a year now!

They are working to improve the Monorails and also add automation controls to the system. Here is the latest Times Guide schedule that provides an example of when the Monorails are available: http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/p/weekly-walt-disney-world-times-guides.html ignore the Saturday hours since that expanded schedule is to handle the "RunDisney" early morning crowds this Saturday and is not a normal Saturday.

Also, Stephen Porter has a great recent DIS article concerning the current state of the Monorails: http://www.wdwinfo.com/walt-disney-...orld-monorail-desperately-needs-a-renovation/

With both resorts, in a resort room (not DVC), you will get two queen beds and a daybed, so your girls could have separate beds (the daybeds are very comfortable, IMHO). I personally, would pick Poly for the theming and the pool (CR's pool is in desperate need of a refurb). The only perk at CR, IMHO, is that you can walk to MK. Otherwise, Poly wins for us. I would look at some youtube videos and see which resort and room appeals to you most.
