We have never stayed in a deluxe before & have narrowed it down to these two. What do you think for our Sept. trip? We can't make up our minds!! Please give us all of the positive & negative feedback you have for each of these hotels!

Thanks soo much!!

Better check availability at the Contemporary for the dates you want. I like the Poly because its sooo relaxing there.:bounce:

Polynesian pool slide stays open 2 hours later than the one at CR. Both resorts are very nice.:)

Both are great, so here are some of the comparisons:

Poly: Themed to the South Pacific islands. Rooms more rustic, tans, browns, etc. Nicely themed pools. No hot tubs, Relaxing, laid back atmosphere. On monorail line, and within walking distance of the TTC. Nice restaurants, and a great lounge. Nice beach with swings, hammocks, chairs. Nice view of MK from beach. Boat to MK. Boat rentals. Great CM's.

Contemporary: not really themed, but lots of Mickey there. Home of Chef Mickey's and California Grille, bright and energetic, large rooms, slightly larger than the Poly, rooms very brightly decorated, balconies on Tower rooms only, patios on 1st floor wing rooms, best bathroom layout in all of the Disney resorts. Recently renovated, 2 nice large pools, one with slide. Hot tubs, kids playground, boat rental, boat to MK, WL and Fort Wilderness. Walking distance to MK. On monorail line, in fact it goes through the building. Sandy beach overlooking Bay Lake. Great CM's!

It really is a matter of personal taste. Personally, I would be happy at either. Good luck on your decision!

We've stayed at the Poly twice and just got home from the Contemporary last week. I was very excited to stay at the Contemporary, but we didn't like it much. The rooms are bright, a little too bright for us. The resort didn't have the magical feel to us that we've become accustomed to at WDW. We had a few questions of the front desk and each time were told to call a diff. department. At the Poly, the same issues were taken care of by the front desk staff. The Poly just seems so much friendlier to us. We decided that we won't be staying there again. It's an ok resort, but one that we'd rather spend a little more money and stay elsewhere. The Poly is a definite favorite of ours. We'll be going in Jan. and will be trying the Beach Club Villas. We've never stayed off the monorail so we'll see how it goes. My vote would definitely be the Poly for the "magical" feel you'll receive.

Personally these are our 2 favorite resorts! Really you can't go wrong with either resort. The poly is more laid back, a little more relaxing. The CR is more exciting, "big city" feel. So what ever mood you guys are in, you will be happy! We like to rotate them, with trips. Presently, shades of green is also at the CR, so it might be a little more crowded, that could be a deciding factor. Both resorts have great marina's, pools, beaches, location, transportation, parking, cm's, shops & resturant's! And they are conncected per monorail!

 MKY

You could always split you stay! That way you can come back and tell us what you think!:D Good Luck deciding! I think I changed my mind about 5 times before our last trip!

I agree that you probably cant go wrong with either. However,I am going to complicate your life a little. How did you narrow down your choices? Give some consideration to the Yacht Club. It is a fabulous place to stay. It has,in my opinion, the best themed pool area(Stormalong Bay) in all of Disneyworld. It has a great location you can walk to Epcot in 5 or 6 minutes and now there is a very pleasant walkway to MGM. That walk is 15-20 minutes depending on your pace. WHAT A CONVENIENCE!! Think about it you can walk to 2 out of 4 parks at your own pace-no waiting for a bus or a boat. You are in complete control. Also there is a choice of about 20 good restaurants within a 5to 15 minute walk including 2 great places right at your own hotel. There is also a quiet pool and easy access to the Boardwalk. We have stayed there for 8 years in a row and would never go anywhere else. We had stayed at Contemporary,Wilderness Lodge and Port Orleans. While they are all wonderful places we are sold on YC. Why dont you give it some thought. ANY OTHER YC PEOPLE OUT THERE?

The Contemporary leaves me feeling nothing but cold. Too much concrete, no personality. Of the two, I'd choose the Poly without question.

As Yachtman mentioned, the BC and YC are also great places, but they are not on the monorail, obviously a consideration if you will primarily be at MK.

Good luck with your decision!

WOW!! You guys have really got us thinking!!
HUUUUMMMMM......still not sure.....but we are leaning towards the POLY.
Thanks to all my DIS friends!!
