Having just gotten back from a great time with my mom and one of my sisters, I am planning to take my 21 year old daughter with me to WDW January of 2017. It will be her senior year in college, winter break, and I want to celebrate it. I have decided to splurge and stay in the CR Tower since we will likely only go for 3 nights. My question is, having decided to stay there: how, where, when can I get the best price? So again, for sure that is where I want to stay so I am prepared to spend the 600$ or so a night, but I am hoping to spend less and get the best deal possible. Any tips? THANKS!!!!!

When in January? If you can avoid the first few days, Marathon Weekend, and MLK Weekend, you're looking at some of the best prices of the year.

If you can get a Disney room discount, you could save up to 30% off. And if you book through a third party, such as Orbitz, you may be able to save an additional percentage after the Disney discount.

30% would be wonderful! I hope to go maybe somewhere in the first 2-3 weeks. (She has to be back at school by the 21st) Just for 4 days and 3 nights. I'll keep an eye on flights and, more importantly, when I can get a deal on the room. Oh, I'm excited if I can get 30% off!!! (We won't do the dining plan. I'd much rather pay of out pocket and eat where and when we want. The DDP includes too much food).

I will have to disagree with this. Last year I was waiting for a CR discount for January, and suddenly all the rooms were gone. Turns out there was some kind of Florida resident discount. This year, I only got 15% off through Disney. I am going second week of January. (I got another 5% off when they released AP holder discounts a few weeks ago.)

There was a magical deal available in early January of 2016 (I think it went up to the 6th) but it was for GW only. TA told me that they rarely get deals for tower rooms.

OP I would be prepared to spend $600 per night for CL. At least. I am paying ~$650 per night for two adults and that is after the discounts. (CL BLV) M-F and Friday night is the most expensive so if you can avoid weekends totally you might get a better deal.

For comparison, if I had booked through the TA in early January during their deal, I could have gotten a Garden Wing room for about $292 per night. But it's not the same.
