We are planning to go to Disney with 3 adults, 2 kids ages 6 and 8. DH is working 10 hour days while we are there so my mom is coming to help with kids. We are big AKL fans and were planning to stay there. But now with added adult, feel like the CR may be a better choice.

Having never stayed there, I have a few questions:

1. Does CR share bus trans. with Poly, WL and GF to MGM, AK, and DD?

2. We will be using the AP rate for a garden room. Anything I should know before I call CRO? Special requests?

3. Is there an additional charge for an extra adult?

4. What is the charge for a rollaway for all Disney resorts?

Thanks!

Hi MinniesFriend!

I can tell you that the Contemporary does share buses. I think the resorts that share that bus may change from time to time. On one stay we shared with Poly and GF but on another stay we shared with WL and Poly.

The North Garden Wing is closer to the Food N Fun center and the South Wing is closer to the swimming pool.

There is an additional charge for extra adults, I believe it is $25.

I don't know about roll away beds. It was my understanding that they were not available at Disney resorts but I could very well be mistaken. The daybed at the Contemporary is the same size as a twin bed and should hold an adult comfortably.

Hope this helps some! I'm sure there are others here who will have more definite answers for you!

Enjoy your trip!

I think the rooms in the Contemporary have 2 queen-sized beds and a pull-out sofa bed, so you shouldn't need a roll away if the kids can share a bed. I'm not sure if they even have the roll aways there, because with the pull-out opened up there wouldn't be room for one.

I would recommend requesting the North Garden Wing (closer to MK walkway and Food court) and close to food court. I also prefer a top floor (less flush and foor noise). However on the ground floor you will have a patio with two chairs (no balcony upstairs). The CR will definitely give you more room. You'll have two Queens, a daybed/twin and plenty of space left over. You could bring an air matress if you need an extra bed for one of the kids.

I never used the bus service at CR. We either drove ourselves (AKL, MGM), walked (MK), used the boat (MK, WL, FW) or used the monorail (MK/EPCOT, TTC, Poly, GF).

The last time I was there (January) the CR shared busses with the GF and the Poly. It was the firsdt stop, so we were the first ones on and the first ones off.

I'd also recommend the NGW. In your request, ask for a lake view. It really is beautiful and it's a lot better than looking out over the parking lot.

You won't need a rollaway at the CR. The fold down daybed is plenty big enough for an adult, and is pretty comfortable, too!

We stayed at the CR for 10 days in March in the N Garden Wing. We stayed on the 2nd floor and didn't have any problems with noise from above. We shared a bus to MGM, TL, and AK with the Poly and the GF. We were picked up first and dropped off first. I think when we took a bus to DtD we didn't stop anywhere, but I could be forgetting. The daybed can be pulled out slightly for more room- it was plenty big. Plus there was room on the side of the bed by the patio door for someone to sleep on an air mattress- we put a play pen there & it fit just fine. The rooms are very spacious- we enjoyed our stay there very much and are headed back in October.
