What are the basic differences in these two? Just trying to see why the tower is SO much more $$$. Any insight or feedback would be appreciated.

Thank-you for any help on this...:cutie:

FWIW- We want to do a split stay. F/D @ Contemp but only avail for 6 nights then we want to do Poly for 3 w/room only % & we'll OOP.

TIA

The standard rooms in the tower and the garden wing are exactly the same. You are paying more to stay in the tower because everything is in there. Shopping, dining, transportation. You also have the choice of Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake view when you are in the tower. I have been in both buildings, but I must admit that the tower is so much better. Only an elevator ride down and your on the monorail, or grab a quick bite to eat. I guess I'm just too lazy to walk to the other building too. :rolleyes1

Biggest difference is the VIEW, and you get a small private balcony in the tower! You will have a breathtaking view of either Bay Lake or Magic Kingdom (have to pay even MORE for MK), and you will be in the same building as the monorail, restaurants and shops if you stay in the tower. The walk from the garden wing to the tower is very short and covered by an awning, so though you have to walk outside to get to the lobby, it doesn't take long, and you don't have to get wet. The rooms (size, layout, design, amenities) are exactly the same (but no balconies in Garden Wing).

Wow! Thanks for the quick replies. I got the search to work pretty decent & found some pics/answers, but confused about the balcony or patio? Are there patios/sliding doors on the ground floor BUT no balconies on 2nd 3rd? Is this correct? Pics look amazing either way...now do I do a split & stay @ Poly for last few days or book a discount in the Tower @ the CR. Ohhhhh, the ecstasy & agony of it all. :lmao:

This is correct. If you request a ground floor GV room, you will have a sliding glass door and lovely patio. The patio will usually have cute ducks on it and rabbits nearby. Personally, having stayed at the Poly, CR GV and CR Tower, I would do the entire stay at the CR Tower. We love the walkway to the MK, and the (less expensive) BLV because there isn't a parking lot below you.

Let us know what you choose.

To go right along with what everyone else is saying, it basically comes down to the view. The tower will offer you much better views, and a balcony. Also, it is location location location. You are so close to everything in the resort. Plus, with the MK view, you have the option of watching wishes from your room.

If you would like a patio in the garden wing you will be on the 1st floor. The thing I don't like about the CR wings is you can have so really bad views. Lots of parking lots & cars.
If you are a family that won't be using the room that much I'm sure you'll be fine but if you aren't park warriors it might be a let down.

As far as the tower it is just an easy escape to the monorail & boats. What is the down is the shape of the building makes getting to your room very loud at times & we aren't a fan of the smell of buffet as soon as you open your door on the lower floors.
