Does anyone have any experience with the Contemporary Patio Rooms? They are approx. $90 more for our weeklong stay in Sept. and would like to know if it's worth it or not.
Is the first floor of the Garden wings ideal?
i was thinking I could get the standard wing room and use the $90 bucks for the fridge rental or put towards the rental car, but we are splurging this trip, and if the patio adds to our vacation, I won't mind the extra cost.

We had a room in the garden wing with a patio that faced the lagoon. As we had a 2 year old who napped with us at the time, it was great to have a pretty place to escape to while she napped, but where we could hear her if she woke up. We liked the first floor because it was also easier with the stroller. You didn't say if you have little ones who nap. I think you need to assess if you would use the patio or not -- if you won't really need that escape from a sleeping child, then maybe it is not worth 90 bucks. By the way, aren't there first floor patio rooms on the standard view side as well? I could have sworn that there were.

DWand I had a 1st floor garden with pattio back in may. We absolutely loved it. It was so nice to come back to the room, put the little guy down and relax out on the pattio with a couple of cocktails and watch the boats go by on the lagoon. IMHO well worth the extra$$$.

Have a great trip.

We have stayed at CR on both the 2nd floor & the 1st floor. IMO it would be worth the $90 to stay on the 1st floor & have the patio room.

It was so nice to be able to open the door & step outside to sit & relax for awhile instead of always being in the room. The CR is deceiving. The upper 2 floors look as though they would have patios but unfortunately you can only open the door & stand their to look at the view.

I think you should splurge & get the 1st floor room - it's a vacation- enjoy every minute of it. :D

Thanks for the insight! It seems as if we may really appreciate the Patio.

Right now it's all Dollars and Cents so the input makes a difference.

Any more pros and cons would be greatly appreciated!

Just a heads up - since only the first floor rooms have patios - be sure to keep the door shut - the ducks are very friendly and they want to come right in! We had to shoo them out when my daughter didn't shut the door behind her!
