Contemporary for 10/27

I called up this morning to book a room because I'm jittery, and currently have a rate of $175 + tax for the Contemporary for the night of 10/27 (for a regular room) just to have something - I'm waiting for the AP rates to see what the prices become for suites and other rooms.

Is that a good rate? I can't tell. What do people with Best Rate have for that time period for the Contemporary?

Oh, they wouldn't tell me what type of room it was (Garden, Tower). I assume it's a wing, but...

Considering that a rack rate standard room at the CR is over $200 during regular season, I have to assume that you got some sort of discount already.....

How in the world did you get that rate?!? I would change my reservation to CR if I could get it too! Please let me know!

I called up and asked for a monorail hotel for that night, said I was Florida Resident (which I am), Season Passholder (also am), AAA member (also am), and going for my 5 year wedding anniversary (yup, also true.)

He started to say something under his breath about the Polynesian when suddently he said "Ok, I can get you a two queen bed room at the Contemporary..."

Sounds to me like you already got a discount! We just stayed there in July with an AP discount for roughly the same price! We were in the North wing.
