Contemporary Food Court area question?

I asked a question actually on the Resort board but I think it more rightly belongs here.

From the sounds of it the counter service area a the CR is not so great. The pictures are not so great either. I'm not looking for a 5 star meal at a CS but my family does enjoy eating and since we are on vacation I'd like it to be nice, or nicer than maybe the CR has to offer right now.

So my question is, if we are staying at the CR, can I just by my mugs at say the Polynesian Resort and eat our breakfast and occassional diner at their CS? Is this frowned apon or ok. I figured we'll be taking the monorail every day (almost except for our one day at MGM) in the morning, so it's just as easy to stop at the Polynesian Resort and eat as is to eat at the CR.....

Is this not allowed? Am I crazy to think this won't be hassel? Because where ever I by the mugs is where we will eat 9 of 10 meals.

thanks.

A good rule of thumb is to buy the mugs at the resort you plan to use them, since they're only valid at that resort.

Why are you staying at CR?

I would find it a hassle to every morning/evening go to a different hotel to get drinks. Why not just get CR mugs and fill them up and take them with you for your morning breakfast over at the food court area of GF or Poly? That way it is easier to get drinks say before you turn in for the night instead of jumping on the monorail to get drinks.

The Food and Fun center really isn't that terrible of place to grab a quick breakfast.

We do a grocery stop and eat breakfast bars on our way to the parks. My only concern for you would be what are you doing with your mugs after breakfast? Are you taking them to the park? We travel light & only use a fanny pack for our things. So, it would seem like a hassel to us to carry our mugs all day at the park. If you are traveling monorail and decide to take them back to the CR remember, the monorail will make a complete loop stopping at GF & MK before going back to CR. Just a thought!

We found the counter service at GF & CR to be very comparable for lunch or dinner. The burgers, chicken fingers, etc. seemed to be the same to us. One nice thing about the GF CS, you can sit out by the marina while you eat which we really enjoyed.

Hope this helps!

Sounds like too much of a hassle to me, and what will you do when you want a drink during the day (near the pool) or in the evening at CR? Could you eat a small snack for breakfast and then grab something mid-morning in the parks? We always enjoy something tasty from the Main St. Bakery! Just a thought...
