Contemporary Filled in July?

I just tried to get a quote from WDW website for my in-laws who have decided to join us on our trip this summer . I requested the Contemporary (that's where we are already booked) and it came up with Old Key West and Saratoga Springs, even though I specifically put in the CR. Does this mean that the CR (and other deluxes) are booked? Yikes! I didn't even get an option for WL, Polynesian or GF. What's going on??

Was it for more than 7 nights? If so, I think that's a problem with the new site.

I tried to book CR for 6 ngts in June - no luck! Might be extra busy due to the 50th birthday celebrations?

Have gotten the impression that the CR may positioned more as a convention hotel than it has been in the past. The facilities are there already, it may be more of a marketing focus that they're shifting too. So it's possible that big blocks of rooms are being held for groups during these times.....

I'd try calling. I've found in the past that a resort doesn't appear on-line but is available when I call. It's worth a try. Good luck.

I agree with DisneyLisa. Call, call, call... July is busy, but booking over the phone can yield different results.

CRO told me availibilty is different on line - so call too!

The Contemporary will be rehabed during 2005. All of the rooms will be updated and a new themed pool is going to be installed. Maybe this is the reason for the unavailability of rooms.

We are doing a CR-YC split in May/June. I may reconsider the CR part if CR is going to be in the midst of major renovaiton.

how many people do you try to get a room for - if more than 4 adults - that is why - they are knocking you to a dvc resort.

We are booked at the CR in March. Any ideas when the rehab begins??

I called yesterday to book POR for June 10 to June14. From there we are going to stay at Boardwalk on DVC points. POR was completely booked for that time. That is 2086 rooms. All booked. I couldn 't believe it. I even called back 2 more times and they all said the same thing. One said that CR and GF were totally booked for June, July and August. CM said she even called guest services at hotels to confirm this. They said a lot of conventions are coming during that time. I'm sure the conventions have blocked an over abundance of rooms and as time goes on, some will be released as the conventions truly see how many people are coming. So, for us it is POFQ, hoping that something opens up at POR with an AP rate for that time. So, I would book something right now and hope to change later, if you know what I mean.
