Contemporary booked for December 06???

Absolutely nothing for the second week in December 2006, other than suites.

What's up with this? They must be blocking rooms for some reason. Anyone have an insight about whether this might open up when stuff like this happens? Does anyone happen to know what event this might be for? There's no way it can be just pre-booking by individuals 14 months in advance -- there's not a single tower or garden room open.

I guess I'll go ahead and book the week before, but that's not ideal. Kind of curious whether I'll be able to change later (although, in truth, if this is something like a massive wedding or something that's taking up nearly 700 rooms, I'm not sure I want to be there that week).

The only thing that came to mind was Pop Warner games which are usually scheduled sometime between the first and second week of December. However, they usually book up at the value and moderate resorts first?

Anyone else with any ideas?

My guess is they are planning for a large convention that week. If so, I wouldn't let it stop me from visiting WDW during that time. Conventioners go to meetings during the day, not the parks, LOL!

Ok, thanks everyone. Staying somewhere other than the CR isn't an option for us, so I guess I'll have to go with the week before and hope something opens up. Never would I have imagined that 14 months in advance was too few in a traditionally not overwhelmingly busy time of year.

OK, that is really weird. I booked our reservations for this Dec, last December and there were all kinds of rooms open.

Y'know, it may be because of the renovation. Everyone is seeing how gorgeous the rooms are and are making sure they get in, so they are calling extra early this year for next Dec.

It will be interesting to see the change in availability at the CR starting next year....I bet all kinds of people would like to stay at the CR but haven't because the rooms were so ug.....no, I'll be nice......interesting looking.
