In February, but I've seen some negative comments about the 3-4 night cruises, so now I'm wondering whether we should do it or not. We haven't done the DCL at all, but recently found out we're expecting our 3rd child, so we figured we'd better get it in now or it might be a few years.

Can you guys give me your pros & cons about the 3 night cruises? Would you just totally skip it if you couldn't do the 7 night? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated!!!

The three night is better than no cruise at all. ;)

Some of the negativity stems from the fact that people doing the three and four night cruises wish they were longer and feel they'll need to rebook to have a chance to really see and do it all. If you go into it knowing it's going to be short you won't be disappointed. Can you go for the four day instead of the three? :boat:

The first time I cruised it was on a 3 day Wonder. It was such an amazing experience. I was nervous that I wouldn't like cruising and concerned about being out on the ocean. Of course once I experienced it I figured out I was worried for nothing and of course, wished that it could have been longer. But I wish that on any vacation . . that it could be longer. That time I combined it with the "land" package as well so I did get a week of vacation.

I have taken 3 day cruises on other lines too. I think of them more as long weekend getaways than "a vacation of a lifetime" type of experience. You get a chance to meet some new people, see new places, and try some food.

Is this something you will do with your two children or an adult only experience?

It's a great way to get a taste of crusing, just might make you wish that you could go again sooner or stay longer, but that's what vacations are supposed to do, right?

I don't think the 4 day will work, just because of the dates that it is available. If we weren't working around the convention, it would be fine.

We would be taking the kids, they see the commercials all the time and are dying to go. ;)

I agree with the other poster - the only real negativie is that the three day cruises are too short. I have done the four day twice, and the three day once (because of a special deal). I loved them all, but the three day was not as relaxing as the four day becasue there really is so much to see and do on the ship. We have a seven day planned for 10/05, and I can't wait. I say you should go try it out, and see if it doesn't whet your appetite for a longer trip! You'll love it!

The 3 day cruise gives you the BEST of the BEST. You get to dine in each of the 3 restaurants (if you try Palo, you will have to miss one of the regular restaurants or double dip by going to both).

You see the 3 main Disney shows (the BEST shows).

And you get to go to Castaway Cay!

So I would say GO FOR IT! You will love it!

As others have said, a three day cruise is better than no cruise! Have you cruised before? Going on a short cruise allows you to get a feel of the ocean, and how you are on the ocean. It gives you a chance to decide if a longer cruise would be right for you.

Our first cruise was a 3 day. We had a fabulous time, and were very sad to see it end. It made us want to go on a longer cruise. But if one of us had gotten terribly sea sick, then I would have been thankful the cruise was only 3 days.

We ate in all three main restaurants as well as the buffets, and we saw all three shows. We may not have gotten into every club and activity, but our days were full. The day we were at Castaway Cay was by far the best day.

I say, go! Have a great time! ::yes::

We have booked a 3-day in January because my husband is unsure of how he will feel. Let's hope the seas are calm---because I want to go on a longer one later! I would have booked a 4 day but they are during the week and I couldn't pull the kids out of school for a week at that time of the year (got great FL resident discount). They should change the 3 & 4 days around once in a while.
