I have no idea, but I think All Star Resort is pretty far out--not walkable.

It's about four miles, but even if you did want to walk it it is not permitted to walk on any of WDW's highways. There is no sidewalk, walkway or path from the All-Star Resorts to any other part of Disney property, except the McDonald's restaurant.

There is a walking path from the contemporary, but You can't walk to the CR from any of the value resorts.

From the Contemporary Resort, you are indeed allowed to walk to the Magic Kingdom.

From the All Star Resort, the options are either your rental car, taxi or bus.

ahhhhhhh ok, i wasn't expecting highways to the hotels, i guess i just assumed all the hotels are within walking distance, its been since 1987 since i was there so i don't remember anything

thank you!!

Walt Disney World has many miles of highways. The property is 43 square miles!

You are going to be in shock at the changes!!! :teeth:

I was not there "way back when", so I have nothing to compare it to, but I can only imagine what someone like you would feel when you return to see how spread out everything is. I'm not sure about the driving distances between the different parks, but I would think it can easily be 20 minutes or so between some of them.

I've never stayed at the All Stars before, but I will be staying there next week. I've stayed at many of the other resorts, though, and most are not within walking distance to a park. And all the parks are spread out, so even if a resort is walking distance to one park, it's then far to another one.

Happy planning--you'll have a blast!

Oh, I'm going to WDW! While you poor suckers are stuck at home! Show off. :goodvibes (JOKE!)

You wouldn't want to walk it even if you were allowed. It is like a highway, but prettier and with purple signs!

Have a great trip!!!:)

The All Star resorts are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY to far out to walk to anything.

Take the air conditioned bus and save your energy for the parks! :)

Picture WDW as a clock. The Magic Kingdom is at 12 noon and the Value Resorts are sitting down at 7:00 o'clock. So in between is at least 5 miles, plus Epcot and MGM are in the middle of the clock. Someone posted a WDW map in transportation. Go look at that thread and maybe you can find a map.

You can walk to the MK from the CR. The Poly and Grand Floridian are close enough to the MK to walk, but there is a lake in the way. You can walk to Epcot from Beach Club, Boardwalk and Yacht Club. It is also possible to walk from those hotels to MGM, although it's quite a haul. I think that's it as far as walking is concerned.

Actually, the walk from the Epcot resorts (BC, YC, BW, and Swolphin) is only about 15-20 minutes. It's quite a nice walk, and almost always shorter than waiting for the water launch to make it back to the BW, at least (since the BW is the third stop).

ugh! Why would anyone want to walk great distances to get to a park, when you'll be walking all day inside the park? When we stay at Boardwalk/Beach Club area, we've been known to walk back and forth from Epcot, but that's it!

Hehe... I suppose it depends on your preferences. Walking -- being able to walk, really -- is such a wonderful thing to me. When you've faced spending the rest of your lifetime in a wheelchair, being able to walk miles and miles is fantastic! And after a few months of sub-freezing temperatures in Boston, it feels so good to just have the sun of Florida :sunny: bake the ice right out of you!
