Containers for cupcakes to go?

We have a FP+ for BOG one afternoon, right before leaving the park. I pre-ordered some cupcakes, noting tree nut and peanut allergies and they won't include the garnish, otherwise they're nut free for my nut allergic ds9. The idea is to get them just before leaving the park for our afternoon break at the resort, and keep them in the fridge for him (or even freeze a couple for two or three days later, then defrost them). So I made a 1:15-1:45 FP+ and then we will immediately leave MK and get onto the bus to BWV.

Is there a type of container I could order online to carry the cupcakes back to our resort without completely messing them up? I believe they are much smaller than the other huge WDW cupcakes at places like Starring Rolls or Boardwalk Bakery, so are they more a standard size? I'm not sure if BOG gives take-out containers for them, so I'd feel more comfortable just bringing my own and carrying it in my backpack.

i'd suggest getting a few of those foldable/disposable cupcake "boxes" at your local supermarket to take with you (you know the ones at the bakery section you put your cheese danish or boston creme donut into....)

also check the supermarket bakery section for a plastic cupcake "holder" (with a screw-on domed lid) to pack with you - bought one the other day myself so i could "pack" a cupcake in DH's cooler for lunch

otherwise, just checked online (that auction site) for a search of "individual cupcake holders" and found several clear, domed/lidded disposable ones as well as plastic you could buy

good idea to bring your own to insure the cupcake stays intact!

They are small like a standard cupcake you make at home. When we were there they did not really have any packaging other than a clamshell type box you'd put leftovers in so bringing your own container is a good idea. I'm also nut allergic and the computer will insist that the cupcakes are not OK and they will have to call a chef to over ride it and "make" them for you. Do count on having to wait for that--it took a good 30 minutes for me to get 2 cupcakes and an order of fries while the rest of my group had their food in 5 minutes. Also don't get me wrong I'm thrilled to have a nut free option baked good but unless your son is not picky at all the cupcakes were not that good and the inside is carved out to fill with frosting so it was 80% frosting that was like cool whip substitute (yuck to me). The cake part was fine though just not much of it once I removed the awful slimy chemically tasting frosting. I was happy to have a bite but I would never have eaten the dozen I thought I would be purchasing. Glad I decided to taste 2 first before placing my big order.

We had dinner last week at BOG. We took 2 cupcakes to go and they had special cupcake containers meant to hold them upright. My only issue with them was the heat...the cupcakes stayed upright, but in the time it took to get back to the room (only over at BLT) the icing was melting off of the cupcake.

I had an empty ricotta cheese container that I brought with me to set the cupcake in and it worked great.

thought of something else that might work...

one of those rectangular Ziploc (or Glad) plastic lidded food storage containers

it could hold several cupcakes, there's a tight lid, and you could carry it in your backpack (and dispose of afterward)

We had anniversary cupcakes at Chef Mickey last year, they came out with our bill. Obviously, we had eaten our body weight in breakfast, so had no room for the cupcakes. The CM packaged them into 2 drinks cups, they fit in a treat! When we returned to our resort and needed a snack we just kind off shook them out! They were not in perfect condition, but far better than if we had just wrapped them in serviettes!

I like the idea of getting some of the plastic containers from the supermarket bakery where they sell individual muffins. I think this what I will do, as I can stack them neatly in my backpack and they won't get crushed. I'm sure I'll deal with melting icing, but oh well...we will put them right in the fridge and although they'll be messy they will taste good I'm sure!

I bought a cupcake from Boardwalk Bakery 2 years ago and it came in a cupcake container. You might want to ask wherever you're buying them from if they have such containers ... for free. And yes...this one was deeeeeeeeeelicious. :)

If you wanted to bring a container from home, I have seen these cute little containers at Wal-mart that look like a cupcake.
