I am going to the eye doctor tomorrow, and I am going to get contacts for the first time. Have you had/have contacts? Do you like them? Is it hard to adjust to them?

Thanks
Tom

Used to have contacts and they were really comfy and I had basically no problem with them.

I don't know if I could do them now though because I've developed an irrational fear of getting poked in the eye. :confused3

I use them. They are better than glasses. Latley mine have been getting dried out but I think thats just because its winter.

never had them. I have glasses but I just wear them to see far distances so I don't wear them all the time.

I've had contacts for about 3 years and I love them. There comfy and more practical then glasses. Just don't sleep in them for more then 1 night. trust me I know. xD

yes i have had them for about 5 months now...The first week they were a little weird and kept falling out...don't know why but they don't anymore...

There rather comfortable and i can see much clearer with them then with the glasses...With contacts your more prone to pink eye so if you see that your starting to devolop an infection (crusty eyes that you can't open and well a pinkish looking eye) Stop wearing your contacts and go to the doctor and get some drops...

Keep Eyedrops around because they dry out

Thank you guys! I honestly can't wait. I have been wearing glasses all the time since 3rd grade.

Contacts seem pretty hard at first. In a week you'll be a pro. It's just the fact of getting used to them, and if they want you to get eye drops I recommend Blink. It cleans your lenses while you blink. I don't know if anybody else uses it, but it works wonders for me.

Thanks! My mom said I have to start wearing them in stages. Like a few hours each day for a week or so.

I've had mine for 2 years now. Never any problems. Make sure you know what perscription goes in which eye. Cause I did that. My perscriptons were off by a bit and I put them in the wrong eyes and my eye kept twitching.

Yeah, that would probably help the adjustment. I just put them in, and when they have to size them and stuff I kept closing my eye. So, me being stubborn had to sit in there for an hour attempting to get these lenses in. It's really not as bad as im making it sound here.

I love my contacts, even though I haven't worn them since November.
I think they're much easier to deal with than glasses.

yea, its hard and annoying at first... you see white spots and glares everywhere for the first week or two and its pretty trippy lol.. but after that, you get really used to them.. sometimes i forget im wearing mines and end up sleeping in them... which is not good >_< lol

I wear contacts and I like them. Just warning you if you want to stick with glasses to the side when you have issues with them so you can wear them would be a good idea. and make sure you wear you glasses like ever week or so. Because I didn't do that and ended up getting super dizzy when I wear glasses now. ;[

I've worn contacts since third grade. I'm in seventh grade now. I have no problem with them. It took me less than a day to get used to them (only about an hour, actually), but for some people it takes longer. Just be sure to keep your hands clean, never sleep in them all night (naps once in a while are okay). I use acuve oasys, but I started out with acuve 2. Oasys is waay better.

One more thing... I know they say to use each pair a full month, but I usually change mine every 2-3 weeks.

So congrats, you'll be able to see better out of your contacts, and your eyes won't get as bad as quickly.

That made me lol. Especially with the confused smily. God I have a stupid sense of humor.

i've had glasses since first grade.
and i've had contacts since 5th grade.
soo four years now.

i looooooove them!
they're great for sports.
but i don't really remember what they were like inthe beginning. but i just know that if it's bad, it's totally worth it. most of the time i don't even know that they're in.
