contacting a server?

Hi everyone,
I am just back yesterday after the BEST cruise on the dream.
I was wondering if there was anyway to contact our dining room servers by mail?
This may sound silly but I would love to send them a handwritten thank you note. They were the best I have ever come across!!

Who did you have? We've written to DCL about our servers before, which is great because it goes into their personnel file.

According to the FAQ thread, to write to a crew member:

Be sure to write directly to DCL...it helps with promotions for them as well!

We had an amazing server on the Dream as well last year. He had a Facebook that he would check when he could. We are friends on Facebook and we got his email address. Our assistant didn't have either I wish they would follow us no matter what boat we were on....ok it's wishful thinking, but they were amazing

I wrote a letter to let the cruise line know of great service and I found the assistant server on twitter. However, my husband said I was just 1 small person in their sea of millions, so they would be clueless as to who I was.

It sounds dumb, but they remember the guests! The absolute best thing you can do is to write to DCL--that results in a notation in the employment file which ultimately influences promotions and in the short run can result in perks--an extra hour off, etc. You can also ask DCL to forward a note to the CM.

I was amazed when we were boarding once--there was a SCREAM from the deck 4 balcony. A youth activities CM yelled my DD's name with "You're Back!" She hadn't seen my DD for 2 years and remembered her name!

Another time a CM that we had never had as a server asked us, "Aren't you Micho's girl?" My DD at about age 9 or 10 found out that the next day was our server's birthday--she went to the head server and insisted that he have a birthday party with cake and singing in the dining room. It seems that had never been done before and made quite an impression on the other servers. They remembered that one for years!

Not necessarily. We boarded on our 2010 cruise and both a Kids club counsellor and a shutters photographer remembered my eldest DD by name and came to speak to us and that was within an hour of boarding.

Sure, it would be impossible for all CMs to remember every guest but they do sometimes remember past guests. We are still in touch with the kids club counsellor on facebook even though she is no longer working on the Magic.

Just wanted to say thank you to the others for sharing their lovely experiences of excellent service onboard the ship and how you have now kept in touch. I am definitely going to try and note down CMs' names on our cruise and hopefully be able to do the same. They definitely deserve all the recognition they get for their outstanding service onboard

We had

Nathapong and Zoltan. They were fabulous "pong" As he wanted to be called was so kind to my very picky daughter, he went out of his way to bring her
a strawberry sundae every night for dessert!
And we enjoyed talking with Zoltan so much!! They were terrific I highly recommend them!!
on our last morning I was filled with anxiety because I hate to fly, pong was laughing with me because my flight is 2 hours, his is 21 hours to get home!
Zoltan's wife also works on the ship, I believe she is a bartender at currents.

On a side note, my sisters family had a not so great server and she was super jealous of ours!
Zita was the head server and she rearranged us to be closer together after the first night! I cannot say enough about what a fabulous bunch of people
Disney has assembled on that ship!
