Contact wearers - a question

I have contacts, but I very rarely wear them. I decided to wear them today and I just noticed that part of my eyes (the inner white) is a little blood shot right where the contact ends- the entire rest of the eye is fine. These are a brand new pair - fresh out of the package. What do you think is causing this? I really have no idea

I started having problems out of the blue with my eyes a few months ago. After thinking I had pink eye for over a month I finally figured out (me, not my stupid doctors) that it was my allergies. I went to a different eye doctor and he gave me the new more breathable lens contacts and I haven't had a problem since.

Maybe that's your issue too?

Is this from a recent prescription? And does the curvature, etc match your prescription exactly?

ITA, it could be the lens itself or maybe a little dirt got in your eye. First thing you should do is take the lens out and rinse your eye with cold water. Wait awhile before putting the lens back in but make sure it's rinsed really well.

Anyone have problems with dry eyes? I have real dry eyes and everytime I wear my contacts (I haven't worn them in a very long time) my eyes itches from being dry and wearing the contact.

I used to have this problem until I switched to Acuvue advance. It allows more oxygen in your eye and it feels a lot more comfortable.

Contacts have made big changes in recent years with better materials and such. You might be able to wear them now.

I think the last set I ordered, and the one's I haven't worn in a while, are Acuvue Advance. I stopped wearing them because my eyes were itching again, and I think it was because I just didn't give my eyes enought time to adjust to wearing them again. I'm going to go home this evening and put them on for a couple of hours, and then add more time each day. So hopefully I can adjust to them properly.

Hi CapeCodTenor

I, too, have very dry eyes. I used to wear my contacts from first thing
in the morning until I went to bed at night. My doctor told me to take
them out when I get home from work, and wear my glasses, unless I'm
going out. I also use a lot of artificial tears when my contacts aren't in.
When my contacts are in, I use "Blink-n-Clean" a couple times a day
or more in really dry conditions. This has let me wear my contacts
when I thought I was going to have to give them up, and they're very
comfortable. I actually have to remember to take them out when I
get home for the evening.

"Blink-n-clean," I'll have to remember that, thanks.

When I last wore them (I wore them for a brief time back in Nov. on stage for a show I was in) that when I blinked more it helped.
