From looking at the TSA website for carry-on Dos and Don'ts, I'm still confused. What's the deal with contact solution? Does contact solution have to be in a 3 oz or less bottle to be carried on? What have all you contact wearers experienced? If it does need to be less than 3 oz, where did you get it? In looking at Target yesterday, the smallest bottles I saw were 4 oz.

Thanks!

You can take a larger bottle but you have to take it out and tell the TSO that you have it; contact solution is listed under the allowed medical exceptions.

Sometimes it is a good idea to print that list; some TSO's have been known to argue that anything to do with contacts is cosmetic rather than medical.

I just asked the same question a couple months ago for a trip I took in April. Found a sample size bottle of solution at Walmart that was either 2 or 3 oz. I can't recall. They also sell a travel kit that has a bunch of other things in it, but includes a small bottle of solution.

I usually take the small bottle in my carry on and put the bigger one in checked. Depending on the type you use, as the previous poster said, some are available in both sizes in the same box.
