Construction Update

We were just married at the Wedding Pavilion yesterday. I too was very concerned about the walls and the construction. We had absolutely no noise what so ever. I was really irked about the walls the whole week we were there before the wedding, but I have to admit that I didn't even think about them or really even notice them the day of. I think I was too excited about the wedding day itself. Randy was able to take some really awesome pictures and I am totally excited to see them!! I'll post them as soon as I get them so other brides can get an idea of the shots that were taken and what not. :)

We get married in two weeks :goodvibes so that's nice to hear that you didn't even notice anything and congratulations on your lovely day! :)

The same gentleman who has been updating the Fantasyland Expansion progress has started updating on the construction at the Grand Floridian. I just thought this would be the best place to put the link.

If it's anything like with the FLE, we can expect updates every few weeks until they really get cracking, and then every week (sometimes less) after.

I think we should start an official info thread about the construction at the Grand just like the Parks thread has for the FLE construction. A collective place where we can keep photos and as up-to-date as possible info. I can collect all of the information we currently have, link to photo threads, and make calls to DFTW every so often. Maybe I'll start one tonight . . . :rolleyes1

I posted a new thread either monday night or Tuesday (don't remember) about the construction since I was at Franck's on Monday. I go in about once a month, sometimes less, sometimes more, and post updates and add pictures if anything new has happened.

Maybe we can expand that thread to cover all the photos and info you and the rest of the ladies have been taking/gathering? I came back to this thread in particular because I felt it had the most information in it.

I think we need one collective place to keep all together. Kind of a one-stop info center for current, future, and potential brides and grooms.

Ok, so our wdw-pavilion wedding is still on for 11/30/11 and we just spoke with our wedding planner about the construction situation. As of now, everything is pushed back a couple of months. Things may not get started until 12/1/11. She also said they are planning on putting up scrims on the walls surrounding the construction that mimic what the view used to look like. Like a mural of the water with the castle in the distance. They are trying their best to make it nice. They will also be adding twice as many plants along the wall. I'm praying for all of us brides to the magical wedding day that each of us diserves.

That sounds great! Disney is great at camouflage when they put some effort into it! :thumbsup2
