Is their new construction in Fantasyland, north of Aladdin's carpets... photos from Google Earth show a large area of cleared dirt where Small World perhaps used to be, or the character meet & greets, or Arial maybe?

Look straight North/Northeast of Cinderella's castle.

It's 2014 DigitalGlobe imagery from Microsoft, but I don't know what month of 2014. Can anyone describe the construction and if it's still ongoing?

1. Small World is still where it always has been.

2. NNE of the Castle is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It is completed.

Aladdin's Carpets is in Adventureland, and the area you describe N/NE of the castle is New Fantasyland, complete now for the better part of a year. You are looking at old imagery.
