Does anyone know which of the deluxe resorts are likely to have construction going on next May? As soon as the packages are available for 2008, we plan to book, but we really don't want to end up somewhere where we'll have to deal with construction noise at any time. (DS will be 3 then, and will still need afternoon quiet time in the room.)

I think AKL looks like it will still have construction going on, and maybe CR? I've heard about work going on currently at GF, but it sounds like it is mostly redecorating and shouldn't be too noisy. Does this all seem correct, and likely to still be true for next year? Anything else rumored that could be a problem?

Here is the renovation schedule for the Contemporary. However unlike the last time they got a renovation, this time it does not effect any of the rooms in the Tower and South Garden Wing. As for the demolition of the North Garden Wing since that area is now being worked on for the future DVC building, it does not effect any guests staying at the Contemporary. Plus it's covered by a huge fence so no one is forced to see what's happening there, unless they wanted to from the windows of the 4th floor, or while on the Monorail.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.
