Considering VWL but have concerns

point taken.... I will keep that in mind. I would just love my friends to be able to stay at a deluxe resort but I could easily see keeping the points myself for California and Hawaii trips.

WLV at Christmas is exactly why we want to own there. BCV for our summer trips.

I Just closed on VWL on Friday so I don't have a ton of experience but if you want to stay there at Christmas time, I think you need to book at the 11 month mark. The fact that there are hardly any VWL for resale now is making me think I made the right move. Whether it's separate or not they are adding new pools recreation areas, a new restaurant...IMO that can only be good. Good luck on your decision !!!

I'm an owner at VWL. I am going 12/27 - 1/2/16 - had to waitlist Dec. 30 and 31 at the 11 month window - they have since come through but VWL at Christmas without the 11 month window is probably next to impossible.

I just don't see any forced extension. That's not been done in the past. I do see increased ROFR by Disney to capture old VWL points and convert them into new extended contracts if Disney offers an extension. I personally have no plans to extend.

Disney could also build at VWL as a new home resort and the resale prices and popularity for the existing VWL could crash.
