considering the QSDP

So I am thinking about doing the QSDP. Originally we were going to do the DDP but alot of our TS meals will be character breakfast so DDP isn't a good value for us. We plan to buy resort mugs and eat most of our lunch and dinner meals as cs. We are going for 7 nights and plan to do 3ts breakfast(2 character), 1 ts lunch, and 2 TS dinner. The rest of our meals will be cs. For those of you that have done the qs plan, do you find it to be a good value?

I have never done the quik service plan, but am considering it. I have always done the regular plan that comes with 1 ts,1cs,& 1 snack a day. I would stick with that since you're doing some table service meals. I know for myself, I calculated it for our group...if we ate at just one ts then it pays just to get the regular dining plan, not the qs.

We did the QSDP on our last trip. It was free, so it was okay. However, we won't do it again. We just really got tired of the same types of food and missed our sit down meals. I know there are lots of different types of foods, and we had good food ~ more than just typical burgers and chicken fingers, but when you are eating it for 2 meals a day for 7 days, you start having the same things over and over. I will say, we discovered Wolfgang Puck Express on our second to last day and it was great. Maybe if we had found it earlier we would have been okay! It has great food and a good variety!

While getting it will mean you have three meals a day, I doubt it will save you any money as you will need to use every entitlement to do so. It sounds like some of those CS meals will have to be breakfast, and to even break even, you need to spend $15 for each adult CS meal. I don't think there are any CS breakfasts that will come close to that.

You probably need to do some more math....look at where you think you will use those 14 CS credits and see if you can "spend" $15 per adult.

If you are staying 7 nights and plan on doing 6 table service meals then it sounds like the DDP might be perfect dining plan for you. Why would you pay out of pocket for 6 table service meals when the DDP includes one TS meal every day?

If you get the DDP then all your TS meals would be covered, considering the character buffets are the more expensive TS meals and you could use your CS meal for lunch and just pay OOP for breakfast since it is the cheapest meal to buy. Or eat breakfast in the room. On the days you use your TS meal for breakfast then you could pay OOP for a CS lunch and use your CS credit for dinner at your resort food court.

Except for Chef Mickey's, all the other character buffets are under $30 for breakfast, so depending on where they are eating, those days would be difficult to make the $51.50 per day per adult on the plan.

We did QSDP for the 2nd time last Oct. We really like it but then again we got it for free. Now that they have reduced the snacks to one per day you will have to do the math to see if it's really a value for you. For example, if it wasn't included would you get a dessert at each CS meal? I know we wouldn't, especially at many of the locations that only serve the Cakes in the Cups.

I am currently working on my QSDP review if you would like to read it. Link below.

One thing that works really well for us with any DDP is having our own car. That way we can go to resorts, or DTD, to eat, quickly without taking a bus. Makes it so much easier when eating and gives us so much more to chose from.:cloud9:

We have used a DDP 7 times now and paid for it only the first time. I don't plan to ever pay for it again. I will get the DDP when it's free ( I know, I know, it's really not free if you have to pay rack rate, buy a 2 day base tix, etc., but money-wise it still works out.)

Hope this helps with your decision.
