Considering joining AAA for a discount

I am a AAA member but have never booked through them. What are their payment terms?

One of the things I love about booking room-only through CRO is the flexibility to change dates/cancel etc. and not be charged until checkout.

I joined AAA a few years ago mainly for towing or other auto issues. Just recently used them to book my Magic Your Way WDW package. Saved $$ and my TA is great. They book the package through WDW Travel Company, so the terms are the same for AAA as they are for WDWTC. Deposit of $200 due within 14 days of booking and the remaining balance is due 45 days prior to arrival. You can make changes or cancel up until the 45 day window with no penalties. After that, it depends on how many days out you are. I have booked room only's with a AAA discount directly through CRO. Just had to show my AAA card upon arrival.

We've never used the AAA travel services. We simply book room only directly with CRO or through DU with our AAA membership.

The one night's deposit is all that is needed when booking it this way. No prepayment of the entire cost is required.

We joined with AAA specifically for the savings on our Disney vacation and saved probably about $200, or $155 after the $45 fee for 2 memberships for 13 months(got one for my wife at no extra charge). We really didnt think we would need their services for anything else, because we also have Onstar.
However 3 weeks ago we took a small trip about 2hrs from home. After finishing a meal we went outside to see our tire almost completely flat. Discovered we were without a spare, and did not want to drive on it at all and risk damaging the wheel. Onstar service had very poor reception in the small rural area where we were however managed to call AAA and they had someone there in 10 min. He was able to plug the tire and get us back on our way minutes later. Total cost $5 (AAA does not cover plugging tire) So I figured the membership has more than paid for itself. Plus we just received a triptix which has map with directions and travel times mapped out for us.
I would definately recommend AAA

So glad to see the positive responses on this thread. We just got an offer to join AAA in the mail and it's a great deal (15 months for $42 for DH and myself). I am definitely joining. I just had ?s about the booking and all that, and I think everyone has covered my questions :) Love this DIS :goodvibes

If this was for October 2006, $398 does not appear to be the correct AAA rate for the poly, garden view. The correct rate should be about $332 without tax or $370 with tax. Typically, the rate is virtually the same whether you book an AAA rate through CRO or AAA.

Many have reported being able to apply new codes to existing AAA reservations without having to rebook.

Lark- I finally did get around to calling CRO about my reservation. The AAA discount was applied. Silly me, I forgot to count that my sister (3rd adult) is staying with us and that is where the extra money came in!
