I'm confused as to how banking and borrowing work if you own at two home resorts. I would like to know if its possible to bank resort A points to use every other year while borrowing from next year to use resort B points this current year.

Also wondering if I do move enough B resort points to this current year for a trip. Could I still keep the leftover B points that didn't get used and bank them.

Hopefully this made sense!

Yes, lets say you own 100 at VWL and 100 at AKV. You could bank your VWL points for this Use Year and would then have 200 to use during your 2012 Use Year (or could even borrow from 2013 and have 300 for use during the 2012 Use Year).

If you borrowed 50 of your 2012 AKV points for a trip this year, that would leave you with 50 to use during your 2012 Use Year or bank into your 2013 Use Year.

Enjoy! :)

Just remember that you lose home resort priority if you want to combine points from Resort A and Resort B for a reservation. Otherwise banking and borrowing are separate for each resort (contract) that you own.

Sounds good. This would mean I could bank both contracts if one year I just couldn't make it. Correct?

Yes, if you couldn't get to WDW one year, then you could bank both contracts. Using WebmasterDoc's examples, if you owned 100 points at both VWL and AKV, then you could bank them both, meaning you would have 200 points at VWL and 200 points at AKV the following UY. As another poster stated (it's worth mentioning again), you can only take advantage of your home resort 11-month booking window with the points from that contract. Again using the example above, you couldn't book at VWL 11 months out using your AKV points--you'd have to wait until 7 months out to book using AKV points anywhere but AKV. On the flip side, with those two contracts, you'd have two different resorts where you could book 11 months out.

This sounds like a great strategy if you want to alternate between 2 home resorts each year but still be able to book preferred villa at 11 months.

If I understand the responses, with a 150 pt OKW contract I could bank or borrow to have 300 pts (or 450) and all 300 (not the 150 contract amount) could be used to reserve at 11 months at OKW.

Does this also apply if you get transfer points from another OKW member or can they only be used at 7 months?

OKW pts can be used to book OKW at 11 months out whether they are banked OKW pts, current OKW pts, borrowed OKW pts or OKW pts transferred in from another OKW owner. they just have to be OKW pts (the right "currency" as lisas puts it, if that helps you understand it better).

(if you bank BLT pts from a BLT contract you own, or have BCV pts transferred in from a BCV owner, they naturally could not be used at OKW at 11 months out - only at the 7 month window.)
