Considering Dec - weather?

We've cruised 5 times - either spring break or early June - but are considering an eastern Merrytime the week before xmas 2018. We definitely like warm weather, and are a little concerned over how warm it will be in Dec. The avg/historical temps for St John/Tortola look promising enough. We've had iffy experience during spring break at CC - so we'd be prepared for much cooler water temps there.

Thoughts/comments?

Thanks

We have cruised twice in December and twice in January. This past December it was windy and cool at times, but not unbearable. Suppose that would depend what you are used to. We are from Louisiana, so I get cold quicker than most. The water was cool, but not unbearable to snorkel and scuba dive without a wetsuit. We had a cabana on the adult beach at Castaway Cay and it was a bit windy and it did rain that day. Our previous cruise three years prior in December, was beautiful. I have found the seas are a bit rough in the winter, the last cruise being the worst. We were on the Magic out of Miami. But, none of this will stop me from cruising in December/January. Its the time that works for us, and I don't feel as though it puts a damper on our trip. Everyone still has a great time.

Hope this helps! I do find my suitcase is packed with a little bit of everything, because you really never know.

St.Thomas and most of the Caribbean will be hot enough, but Bahamas and especially Florida can be cool.
When we cruised in January and December, it was only 55 when we left Florida but USVI was nice and hot.
Castaway Cay was only about 70, it was ok but not what I call beach weather.
