Considering BWV or BCV...Updated - sent to ROFR 5/28

We just returned from a 2-nite stay at BWI as part of our DVC investigation. The ongoing long version is detailed in my TR in the DVC Trip Report section.

We really liked BWI, but decided it's not a must have resort for us. BCV is our pick for an Epcot Resort, since it is closer to Epcot and it's generally a quieter environment. I did love the BWI water view :)

Surprisingly - my husband really liked VWL. We did do the DVC sales presentation, but he is not into AKV. I thought he might have a higher comfort level buying Direct, but he seems comfortable with Resale and is already searching for contracts...

No decision yet, but I want to thank those who recommended visiting before purchasing. It's definitely a good thing to do if you can.

Glad to hear that your research trip worked out for you! Good luck finding a contract that works for you. :)

We really thought that BWV would be our 1st choice too but we REALLY prefer BCV. It just "feels" right. Easy access to all that the BW area offers and super close to Epcot. The pool (SAB) is a huge asset.

Good luck with your choice!!!

I agree, DizBub!

After visiting the BWI and trekking around looking at properties, we were able to decide between BWV and BCV.

What did we decide? We put in an offer on a 160 point contract for VWL on Friday :rotfl2:. Will update details once all the contracts are signed and it's gone to ROFR.

We also agreed that we'll most likely add another contract at an Epcot Resort in the future. At this point, we're leaning towards BCV. We liked the Boardwalk area, but it's a bit lively for us old folks.

Thanks for the help along the way.

That's great!! VWL looks like it's priced a little better too.

Good luck on your contract and keep us posted with your progress!!

Congratulations on your decision to go with VWL - the trip was worth it! Good luck with ROFR.

Thanks! We are looking forward to getting the process done.

Received notice that the contract was sent to ROFR today. Details are

VWL 160 pts, UY Dec, 24 Banked 2010 pts, 160 2011 pts, 160 2012 pt, and so on. $65 /pt, Buyer pays CS and MF

And yes, this was a full price offer, so the negotiation process was quite simple :rotfl2:

A quick update - the process continues to move along smoothly. One concern we had was the 160 points for 2011. With a Dec UY, we would be cutting it close to be able to bank those points. No problem - TTS talked to the sellers and they banked them the same day. TTS confirmed they were banked and we have a short addendum to the contract. So far, I'm pleased to see the sellers seem to be responding quickly. Fingers crossed it continues through to the closing documents.

Sharon, I am right behind you in ROFR with my own 130 pt WVL contract. Mine was submitted on 5/30. Good luck to both of us!
