I am considering bringing DS 6 and DS 3.5 to WDW without DH. Is this a crazy idea? DS-6 has a break from school and I have to take off of work anyway to be with him. My biggest concern is DS 3.5 won't be 44 inches and DS 6 loves roller coasters. Or other 2- person rides. Other concerns are about carrying trays of food at qs or buffets. What do the single parents do?

If DH says you should, you can.

Kids will be able to help you. And you won't be able to do everything you usually do, but that's what makes this a special trip. It's different, but good.

I am going through the same exact issue right now! My DH may not be able to get time off to go with us and I would like to go even if he cant. My kids are 10 and 6.

Basically I have prepped them. We are going together on every ride if there is something my youngest can't do we will skip it. My older son understands plus he figures the alternative of not going to disney is not appealing.:lmao:

I think you can totally do it! It wont be the same kind of trip you are used to but thats ok each trip is unique in some way!:thumbsup2

I took my girls last spring, then 9 months and 3 YO but my Mom was with us. So she was a help. We skipped the bigger rides, and had a great girls trip during Flower and Garden Fest! I couldn't have gone without my Mom's help though.

I just did this a week ago and we had a great time. Just be sure to check the height requirements ahead of time (online) double check their height at home (barefoot) before you go. See which rides you all can do together and maybe let them see some footage on YouTube. Let them know that we may not be able to do some of things we usually do. Now, I had my 11yo DS with me and when the other 2 did not or would not ride any of the rides I just walked him through the single rider line or through the normal line be sure he got on ok and waited for him In the child swap area. My girls started calling it the "line" ride. Just be open to the fact that you may only get to do the group or family rides but keep an open mind and finally get to see the whole parade and/or wait in line to see that extra character. Notice and read one of those signs you may have missed. Also, take more frequent potty breaks it was during our first park day I felt the pain of not having another adult to leave the other kids in line with while I take the "gotta go right now" kid even though we just went oh 5 minutes before we got into this line to the potty. BTW: my kids are 11,9, & 4. I hope you have a magical trip. ;0)
