We're planning a trip for October, staying POLY concierge. We've got our ressies for a package for 8 days, 7 nights.

We're considering switching to a room-only ressie and getting APs. Getting the APs would cost us (family of 5) about $650 more than what we already have booked. (would lose the extras with the water parks, etc, though, but I doubt we're going to use that perk anyway.) However, we're not getting a dining plan with our package and I thought that with the AP we could tack on the DDE.

I thought that maybe this way we would be able to make one more trip during the year that we have the APs.

Would love some pros and cons on this idea! Thanks for any help!

AP's would be a great excuse for a return trip. If you can afford them and a second trip, and are not doing the dining plan I'd go for it!

You don't all have to have AP's to get the discount, only the reservation holder has to have one. That's what we did. Also I have heard that for FL residents there will be a free dining plan upgrade offered as of next week.

We bought one adult AP and 10 day park hoppers for the rest of the family. You should be able to get a great AP discount on Poly concierage.

Our yearly trips to the world are usually 10 - 12 days, and we get annual passes for the whole family every two years. Every other trip seems like a bargain without paying for park admission, and we often end up taking an extra trip during the year if airfares are a bargain. This year is a pass buying year. We are going down for the first two weeks in August. Next year, we'll have a trip in the spring, and onother two weeks in July. AP's just work better for us, we get 20 - 25 days admission from them every "purchase-year". And the cost is about a break even for the 12 days of the first visit alone.

Thanks for all the info everyone. Now just have to put it all together and decide!
