considering a VERY short trip in december are we nuts?

i would be myself, my sister, and maybe my 16y/o niece or maybe not.

either december 4-6 or 11-13.

arrive at 9:30am on friday, go to DTD, go to MVMCP from 4pm-12am.
saturday go to HS first half of the day and epcot second half of the day.
sunday go to MK at RD, eat at BOG for lunch, mid afternoon head back to our resort to wait for DME pick up at about 6pm for a 9pm flight home.

good plan?
are we nuts lol?

in 2013 we went for a long weekend and got there in the evening on a friday and left in the evening on monday.
that time we did HS and epcot on the same day and went to MK on a MVMCP day and stayed from RD until 12am.

basically this trip we are trying to do it with one less night.
I say if you can afford it, go for it.. We are doing a week in October for Halloween, but in November taking long weekend so we can see it for Christmas. We will have 3 days in the parks, and will use park hoppers and get in as much a we can. Minnie's Holiday and Dine, and Osborne lights. Trying to decide if we will do MVMCP.

Why not?! I would love to take more frequent short trips myself!

I'm a big fan of the short trip, and have flown down with my son four different times and only done three nights/two days or in one case four night/three days. Such a blast and hence the reason for repeats! I would recommend it if it sounds fun and is in the budget. It's just a whimsical fun thing to do. I actually believe it or not prefer this to longer trips.

we got too-cheap-to-pass-up airfare for October ... we land at 9pm on Monday & leave at 3pm on Thursday. MNSSHP on Tuesday PM (after 4:00) & Epcot/Food & Wine on Wednesday. perfect little getaway ;)

I think it is a good idea to go early. You get to see all of the Christmas theme and it is still early in the month. Wait until Christmas time and it will be a mad house.

I never been to MK at the Christmas taping time but when I took the Keys to the kingdom tour I was told the park is usually not as crowded as they make it out to be. They do it for the effect on main street. So the rest of the park might not be that bad. But then again other people could also commit on that.

Have a great trip and enjoy

We had a three night stay in December several years back at the GF. Didn't know when we booked that it would be parade taping, and were really unprepared to discover that it was Justin Bieber parade taping. On Friday the MK crowds were moderate but centered on the MS and hub area as a lot of people wanted to see Jennifer Hudson and Mario Lopez and possibly be i the crowd scenes. Saturday we could hear the insanity from MK at the GF beginning early early morning. They let CM and their families in first. Bieber was a little turd from what I heard, very rude. He and Selena didn't even stay on site, and left immediately after taping. Jennifer Hudson and Mario Lopez were signing autographs, riding rides etc. The positive was that while so many were crowding to the hub the ride wait times were pretty low.

Heck I am going that weekend for DISappolooza/Harry Potter night. Flying in Friday evening and flying home (to California) on Sunday afternoon. So obviously, I say not nuts!

the VERY short trip just got shorter! ;)

we've decided on december 4-6 and changed our game plan a bit.
4th: arrive at hotel mid morning, go to DTD, go to MVMCP from 4pm-12am.
5th: HS AM EMH, epcot afternoon/evening
6th: DME at 7am.

That's very similar to our trip next month, arrive Polynesian 1-2pm, MNSSHP that evening, DHS,EPCOT and MK on Saturday, drive home the next day

Yeah - why not?! If you can go and want to go... then go! 2 packed days at Disney are better than 2 boring days at home. Go have fun!

On Saturday, I suggest you start at Epcot, go to DHS and stay there long enough to see the Osborne Lights beginning at 6 p.m., then end at Epcot. Illuminations is at 9:30, so you'll have plenty of time to see the Osborne Lights before you head back to Epcot. You REALLY ought to see the Osborne Lights!

we don't care too much about the osborne lights.
we saw them in the glory days when they were on the houses, then we saw them when they were on streets of a merica when you could just leisurely walk down the street and there was good christmas music, then we saw them a few years ago when they changed it to be more of a line forming attraction that you had to keep moving and it had teenybopper christmas music and i was highly unimpressed with that experience.

who knows maybe we'll change our mind after i get a review from my parents who are going in november. if they say its better than last time we'll consider it.

It took me awhile to get used to them on the Streets of America, but I grew to love them. I don't like the huge crowds, especially on weekends. However, the Osborne Lights are still a must-do for me.

short trips are fine, it's what we usually do. Schedule sounds good, have fun
