i would be myself, my sister, and maybe my 16y/o niece or maybe not.

either december 4-6 or 11-13.

arrive at 9:30am on friday, go to DTD, go to MVMCP from 4pm-12am.
saturday go to HS first half of the day and epcot second half of the day.
sunday go to MK at RD, eat at BOG for lunch, mid afternoon head back to our resort to wait for DME pick up at about 6pm for a 9pm flight home.

good plan?
are we nuts lol?

in 2013 we went for a long weekend and got there in the evening on a friday and left in the evening on monday.
that time we did HS and epcot on the same day and went to MK on a MVMCP day and stayed from RD until 12am.

basically this trip we are trying to do it with one less night.

Dec 4-6 is the MK parade taping weekend, so I would avoid that one just to keep that out of the planning hassle.

Personally, if my plane arrived at 9:30 a.m., and I had already done the MVMCP, I would skip the party and DTD, add a day to my tickets and get into a park as soon as I could after arrival. So my plan would be more like this:

arrive 9:30 a.m. EP til close
Sat HS early EMH then hop to MK for parade/Wishes
Sun MK til time to leave

Since I had hoppers, I might add AK into that Fri a.m. just for the safari and EE, then hop over to EP

You seem to go fairly often, so it's not like you'd feel the need to do it all.

Why would it be nuts to go for a short trip?

No. My kids are flying down tomorrow for one day at Epcot.

I just booked a short trip to go to Minnie's dinner,Osborne lights, Candlelight Processional and hopefully Skippers Canteen. We have AP and enjoy a mix of short and longer trips anytime we can!!

well our flight would land at 9:30am so we prob wouldn't be to the hotel until 10:30am so we were thinking about being a bit more leisurely instead of rushing to a park.

also yeah i know dec 4-6 is parade taping but if my niece wants gto go thats the week we will go as the next week is her high school's "holly hop" dance and she wants to go.
we figure that we'll just get past main street usa and hope the rest of the park is pretty dead.

I drove down from PA and stayed 2 nights to do mnsshp and drove home now thats nuts!!!
DD13 and I have been considering going down (from PA) for three nights this December. We'd be flying and everyone I have mentioned it to still looks at me like I'm crazy. Some of them have even come right out and called me crazy. DD really wants to visit Disney Quest again before it closes, and hit a MVMCP while we're there. A week long trip isn't in the budget, and we couldn't fit it into our schedule even if it was. She and I both think three nights is a thousand times better than no nights lol.

My kids are flying down on Dec 11 and going home on the 13th. I'm going to be there from Dec 10-15 and the kids will fly down after school gets out on Dec 11. They'll get in too late on the 11th to do anything but a quick trip to DTD. Then they will have to fly home late on Dec 13 because they have school on Monday. I found them a $59 flight on SWA and used flight credits we already had so it was basically a free flight for them.

You should have known that asking on the Disboards we would have all said it was a great idea! lol.

I've been pushing for a short December trip (if flights go down I'm all about it) so I see no issue. Work out your priorities and call it that. Now my husband would say why spend that money? Save it for a bigger trip. A longer trip. But ehh to each their own.

Driving down on 9/25, MNSSHP that night, DHS,EPCOT and MK for evening magic hours on Saturday. Check out and drive home on Sunday. The girls are in college now and can only skip one day of class

good plan?
are we nuts lol?

I'm doing 3 days just for dapper day.. If I was coming down just for a quick holiday hit, I'd seriously consider and probably do the Holiday D-Lights tour. hit all the major december holiday special in 1 vip tour evening of a few hours.

If I had the extra cash, I'd do it. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean you're NOT nuts..... ;)

Have a great trip!!

I say go for it! We did a quick 3-day trip in Feb - just 2 days at MK and one non-park day, and it was totally worth it! I wouldn't necessarily plan my days around the parade taping either. If I remember correctly the taping was rescheduled at the last minute last year. You never know what might happen...
