I has stomach surgery a year ago and am unable to eat very much. Less than my 4 year old daughter. Last year (in Nov) I was still on liquids and the resturants were very accomadating. I was only charged the $5.00 entertainment fee at character meals. We did one every day for eight days.

In Dec, I was only ever charged a child's rate. Never a problem. This year the manager at Norway for the Storybook Princess Breakfast told me I had to be charged the adult rate because it was a buffett. (I wouldn't call it a buffett when they place the food on your table). So, I was just not going to eat. Not a big deal since I am only allowed to eat twice a day. He told me that it did not matter, I would still be charged the adult price, that there was no such things as the $5.00 entertaintment fee.

I realize the cost is beacuse of the characters, but I don't understand the lack of consideration.

I believe each restaurant can set their own rules... your best bet would be to call the restaurant directly and ask before making your PS. That way you know, and make sure to write down everything you are told, and the name of the person with whom you spoke.

I am sorry this happened to you!

Even me...The great defender of Disney am appalled by this. This is the place Disney should always make the magic sparkle. I'd write to the restaurant with copies to the VP at Epcot & Al Weiss, head of WDW.

They have nothing to lose by allowing a person who won't be eating to enjoy the atmosphere with their family & a lot to gain (PR wise). Shame on Disney for this one!

Kathy, how much luck have you had eating at
regular restaurants?(nonWDW) I had the gb surgery
in April, and still am 'learning the ropes' so to speak
about eating out now. Luckily, it's usually dinner, so I
can take the leftovers home (may make two or three meals)
:), but for lunch sometimes, I usually eat some of our
family's appetisers or try to find something my kids
may like and split it.:) Luckily for them they get the
lions share of course.:)
Good luck on your Disney restaurants. Hopefully we'll
get to go again in the next two years, so I have a little
time to plan for eating.:)

I'm wondering if this policy might have changed from last yr. I know at CRT last fall we had the $5 entertainment fee if you were not eating.

I don't have any problems. Sometimes I order and appetizer, more often than not, I just ask for an extra plate and share with dh & dd. :bounce:

It has cut down on our food bill : )
