You couldn't pay me to be in DC next week - it'll be a mad house! Even if you went, how many people are actually going to get close enough to make it worth their trip and the massive crowds? It's going to be worse that the MK on NYE.

That is what I've been thinking. I get wanting to say you were part of a 'moment in time', but meh. I like my personal space. I don't voluntarily go to anything that requires to me to stand shoulder to shoulder/face to back with tons of other people. I'm just imagining the smells associated with that many people being right on top of each other and cringe.

Dolce, that tax problem article was a killer.:lmao: You know some libs had to be reading the first part and their heart rate was increasing and their saliva glands went into overdrive, but then half way through they got that sickening feeling in their stomachs.:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

::yes::

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh Wardfamily1, been meaning to ask- when is your siggy not going to be under construction anymore??;) Just wonering....

Maybe some bailout money is needed first to finish construction? It is an infrastructure project after all!

He'll be on at 4pm my time (CST) which would be around 2pm for you? I don't know if they will run on the same schedule out there. programming is weird sometimes. I don't know if you have cable or satellite or what, but I have DirecTV and the show is already on the on-screen guide if you move to Monday and have a look.
Thanks! I'll check that out.

Hello Cons! :wave2:

I feel so bad for DS. He has ADHD and all the social issues that go along with it. He's slowly going back to regular school after being homeschooled last year and this year (he goes to regular school for reading), but when he goes back he'll be a year back-basically repeating 3rd grade in a weird way. He doesn't have a lot of friends.

We have a fish fry at church tonight and DD invited a friend to come home with her after school and go to the fish fry. DS wanted to invite a friend, too. So I called the mom of the friend-mom said yes, friend was excited, DS was thrilled.

This morning I turned on my cell and friend's mom had called saying her son was sick and can't come. Last night she said the whole family was sick except the friend (mom sounded sick on the phone). When I told DS, he was crushed, and I thought he was going to cry, but instead he went all stoic, which is somewhat worse. Doesn't help that both DD's are social butterflies and are constantly getting invites to go places with friends. I have a couple more friend options I'm going to try for DS, so we'll see how this plays out.

Thanks for listening!
I can really relate. My DD8, is ADHD, too. She has a hard time making keeping friends, too. I hope your son is able to find a friend to go with him.

darn! i hadn't heard that either, and typically on my drive to or from work, when i'm listening to some conservative radio shows, i'll hear...maybe this morning. i

this wouldn't surprise me though, considering the goings on this year...schwarzenegger takes harsh measures when our representatives can't make reasonable and appropriate cuts in their spending.

if i hear anything i'll let ya know.
Thanks! I will do the same. :goodvibes

I know most of you are too young to remember this, but I was looking at some Carter information (I wanted to reference something in my sig about him being the Worst President EVER) and I saw the mention of the Washington Post article "Carter Attacked by Rabbit." I forgot that old buffoon claimed he had been bitten by a rabbit. Anyway, for those that remember that incident, hope this gave you a smile!

PS He only received 49 Electoral College votes in his race against Reagan.

Speaking of MK on NYE: one year we had dinner ressies at Cindy's so they let us go the back route (Main Street was packed) behind the buildings. I so hated they did that; it took years for me to get the Magic back because it looked so ordinary behind the facade.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but what if there was a salmonella outbreak or some other intestinal problem at some restaurant(s)? With that much food needing to be pre-ordered, I cannot imagine that it is all handled properly. Even if, say, a couple hundred people were hit with a bug, that could be awful. Also, how do they keep enough tp in those things? Some people are so trashy, I can imagine people taking the tp with them (to make sure they have it for later). I grew up w/ a mother that had to pretty much disinfect the gas station bathroom before she would let my sis or myself enter one when we went on trips; I would just not be a good "fit" at an event like this.

Grog, on a related topic it's noted that in the Obama Administration, it appears that the "Bush Doctrine" is alive and well!!!"Obamese"... it appears, will replace "Bushisms"!
Sigh.

Geoff - do you get these articles emailed to you? How do you find them? You're providing us with some good stuff. Thanks!

More "change you can believe in"... :rotfl2: So he'll order them closed on "Day 1", per all of those headlines a few days back, but hopefully actually doing it sometime in the next four years is what's really gonna happen... which was basically the same time frame that Bush was shooting for! What bold leadership and action!
Aren't we lucky?

If they read that far....

 Thanks. I appreciate that. It would just mean the world to me if I got to talk to him.:goodvibes

Sooo.... guess where I'll be in 5 days???? :teeth:
I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU! I need to PM you so I can get a link to that blog. Will you be posting it on your facebook page? I know we are facebook friends.

You can still be a part of a moment in time in your livingroom....just sayin'.

I need my personal space too.
I have to admit, she's always been a bit too much for me.
Me too. I like reading what she has to say, don't always agree with her, but I don't like to watch her talk. Her voice grates on me. Again, I do like reading her stuff though.

I can even imagine one of my Aunt's at any kind of event that required the use of a good ole Honey bucket. One time when one of my cousin's was little, she went to visit a different aunt of mine. Her mother (the clean crazed aunt) had her so trained that you don't sit on a toilet outside of the house without some kind of covering, that my cousin used toilet paper to cover the seat at the other aunt's house.

Reality is, though, as much as we like to imagine that folks are going to have issues using the bathroom at the inauguration I doubt in the end it will really be a problem that people will remember. But hey, it's fun to talk about, though!

Same. Also (*extracts claws*), I feel she needs a makeover. Lady gets a little insane with the eyeliner sometimes. Plus, that constant hair flipping just bugs me.

It will only be "a problem that people will remember" to those that are having some 'tummy' trouble and are forced to wait in a long line for one of the few port-a-potties that are there!

That is true, I am sure; unless they would be one of the unlucky ones with an upset tummy.:)

We must be on the same wave length! :thumbsup2 I thought "tummy problems", too!
