Hey there! I'm hanging in there. Been trying to fight through some stuff. In a mad frenzy testing phase to try and prove my Cushing's Disease so I can have my surgery on March 25th in Houston.

How are you doing? Have you floated away yet?

I sincerely hope the surgery goes well. We have a large number of excellent hospitals here in Houston with fine reputations. I am glad that we can help.

Regards,

honu, I just responded to a post of yours on another thread, I hope you're not offended at my response

Nope, not offended at all. I'm really struggling right now. Going through a lot. Maybe this is my test, I don't know. I thought I'd been through my tests already.

I think what really shook me to the core and made me question things was about a week and a half ago I was supposed to have a phone consult with my endocrinologist. It was on a Sunday so I dutifully headed off to church with my mom and I prayed my heart out that I would hear the words I've been waiting a whole year to hear, "You have Cushing's Disease and you are cleared for surgery." I prayed that god would let me finally have the last set of test results I needed to get there. What I heard on the other end of the phone was, "I'm sorry, you didn't get the results I'm looking for. You have to keep trying and you have to keep testing." It was words I've heard so many times over and over again, month after month. I just broke down and cried for hours that night. I had prayed my hardest and it still wasn't enough. It's still emotional for me to think about that night, I'm almost crying thinking about it.

Faith in god is something that I think I will struggle with my whole life.

I also look at things from an athlete's perspective, it's so hard for us when we give 110% to not achieve the results that we're looking for.

Thanks! I'll be going to MD Anderson. Many of my friends with similar tumors have been there and have had wonderful experiences (as wonderful as it can get having them cut into your brain... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ). We all love the surgeon there. Just look for my LGMH on the window and you'll find me in the zillions of rooms there! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Wow! This thread moves so fast! I would like to thank everyone for their welcomes! It's always good to find like-minded people.

There are so many things in recent posts I agree with (the stupidity of the Treasury Secretary nominee, the internal ugliness of the Obamas, Obama's crazy obcession with Lincoln, the overpriced party, etc) but what drives me the most nuts is the media. They had a field day when Joe the Plumber hadn't paid $1000 in taxes, but the future SECRETARY OF TREASURY who will be in charge of the IRS owed tens of thousands in back taxes. And it's not an innocent mistake when you haven't bothered to pay since 2000 but then suddenly do so before your announced. Where's the outrage? Where's the press? Oh, wait, they are busy praying to their Obama idols.

Just a quick reminder, Dr Martin Luther King Jr day is coming up and YES Dr. King was a Republican! Lots of great info on http://www.nationalblackrepublicans.com/ ...click on the history test link. I know the Chair(wo)man Frances Rice and she has great articles including the "Emancipation of White Guilt." These are worth reading and worth sharing.

Hey there!! Yes, warning- we do move quite fast. You kinda have to just jump in and go with the flow.;)

I'll be checking on the link you posted!:thumbsup2 I knew MLK Jr. was a Republican- I truly believe he would be ashamed of everything Obama stands for.:sad2:

Understood. Just remember, you are with friends down here :) .......and who knows, maybe Dr Red Duke will stop by and say hi......he makes rounds in many of the hospitals in the Medical Center........I met him once, under difficult circumstances.....and another time under happier circumstances.... he is a true gentleman.

He would have made a fine Surgeon General......but cest la vie.....

It is coming up. I think part of him would be proud that America has moved beyond what he and his generation went through. On the other hand, I think he'd be disappointed in bho's having played the race card.

Thanks! I can't wait to get down there.

I've seen Dr. Duke on some shows on the Discovery Health channel. I really liked him. I'll have to get his autograph if he comes through.

My surgeon is Dr. Ian McCutcheon, what a marvelous man he is! He reads pituitary patient's MRI films for FREE. When was the last time you heard a doctor do anything for free???? :rotfl2:

This poll is for the CONSERVATIVES only, no lurking libs please.

Who is planning on watching the inauguration?

My TV will be off that day.
2202.gif

My TV is almost never off. I'm so damn addicted to that glowy LCD device o' time suckage you'd think I'd have put a hdmi input in the crook of my arm by now so that I could fix even faster.

Anyway, I won't be watching the inauguration. While I can appreciate what a momentous occasion this is for some folks, it's just another day for me. I'll probably just stream something through the Netflix account on the 360 or watch more CSI on dvd.

Bush was not my favorite president, and I admit he did a lot of things wrong, but I don't think he's the monster many liberals say he is. He's doing what he thinks is right.

I might have already said this, but my problem with the left is how they say Bush is a monstrous liar, but in the same breath, they say he's an idiot. He's either one or the other, people! If he is really as much of a conniving person as you say he is, then he would need to be extremely smart! Good grief.

True that. I completely agree. It makes me think of the SNL sketch they did about Reagan many years back. When the cameras were on him, he was some sweet old man talking to a Girl Scout. As soon as the cameras left, he'd turn into this bad *** strategist ready to beat the Soviets in the booty. You can't GW being some kind of slack jawed Texan who's been hit one too many times in the head with an oil rig chain AND an evil Tsun Zu at the same time.

Meh...GW was not my idea of a great President. He made some decisions I don't completely agree with. However, I don't think he deserved anywhere near the amount of vilification that's been thrown his way.

I've see a lot of folks on the other side of the fence talk about how this side of the fence should want Obama to succeed as his success could mean success for the country. I didn't, however, see that same sentiment bestowed upon GW either time that he won. Instead, I saw a lot of comments such as:

He's not MY President.
I'm moving to Canada!
Get ready to lose your rights!

I don't agree with Obama and I certainly didn't vote for him. However, I would NEVER saw any of the above things....and I'm the one that gets called bitter.

Ooooooo...I'm a rambling sort atm, eh? :)

And btw, 'lurking lib' sounds like some kind of rash you get after having gone camping in the woods. Be careful what type of foliage you pick up, you might come up with a bad case of the lurking libs!

Not to mention she isn't beauty queen material, but what I find more off-putting is her nasty attitude. You'd think the wife of the Obamessiah would be nicer, huh? :rolleyes1

speaking of.....i noticed something interesting during the barbara walters interview. i don't think the obamas get along very well. no matter what bho said, mo was always there with a correction. on t.v. which was broadcast to millions. so it was in public. kinda disrespectful towards one's husband to do that publicly, regardless of who the guy is.

Back at the beginning of the primaries, just as I was beginning to pay attention and really didn't know anything about Obama yet, I saw a photo of the family in someone's sig. It was a really nice pic and I thought them to be a beautiful family. I did find Obama handsome and Michelle pretty and I thought the two kids adorable.

But now, I see the real Obama and Michelle and they aren't very pretty on the inside. That's what I see when I look at them now, I no longer find them attractive. Your personality does a lot to influence another person’s opinion of your looks. The kids are still adorable, but I know that they are growing up learning their mother’s hate and I find that to be very sad.

pretty is as pretty does.princess:

Guess I better accelerate the piano lesson timetable......

i'd like to add how thrilled i am that, in what could have been a tragic incident, nobody was hurt in that plane crash! a pilot like that is a hero. (may the birds rest in pieces....I MEAN peace.)

I just read he went through the plane twice, as it was sinking, to make sure no one was left. He is a former Air Force pilot, of course.

I noticed that, too. It seemed strange to me. I wonder if her mother does that to him, too?

i was watching hannity just a bit ago while they were discussing this water landing. he interviewed another pilot who thinks this guy is brilliant.

i was in a meeting today from 1 - 2, and from this conference room on the 11th floor of our building, i could see the san francisco bay and was watching planes take off and land (boring meeting). at sfo, planes land two at a time, and it always appears planes are very close together...they aren't, but it looks as though they are. you can't help but think, "YIKES!!! it looks like they're gonna crash". when i got back to my desk, not much time passed before the news of the hudson river landing was announced. i had a brief twilight zone kind of feeling when i heard.

Nice. Not surprised Baba Wawa didn't say anything; she disrespects the men she's had affairs with.

My DD has been flying a lot lately. Flew home from Hong Kong on Dec 22 and then went to Hawaii last week. I am so glad this happened after she got back.

That pilot deserves some kind of medal. My DH and I were talking about the folks on the flight and he thought he would feel conflicted, cursed for being there in the first place but lucky to be alive. Since I am one of those pre-destination persons, if I was a passenger, I would be feeling super lucky, buying lottery tickets, playing the slots and drinking a whole bunch of Pina Coladas!
