tsk. i guess if you hafta. :snooty:
Politics aside... I joined the Obama campaign without any preconceived notions of what I'd get out of it.

All I thought was... "this is a guy I support, this is a chance for me to prove to myself that I can take my work to a different audience, and this is a chance for me to see how efficiently I can work". That was it.

The fact that my portfolio is now seemingly worth its weight in gold is an added bonus, and one I had not anticipated.

...and they were near the end. what would they do now, with a house made of peppermint sticks and rain on the way? they were in a constant state of panic, what with having to start the car in the middle of the night all week, the moose eating their trees, and a basketball game to play. there was no end in sight, when suddenly...

...and allowed a stray piece to flake off into her vocal chords. She never sang again, but before that, she did record a single song which rocketed to the top of the charts and made...

...a hit single called "There's a Peppermint Flake on my Vocal Cords" but before it could be released, a giant mongoose swam up from the well and grabbed her left sneaker...

pr---I don't know if I'd admit to campaigning for BO, if I were you.

pr surfer, you should use us all for your glowing references. then you'll get the job and can invite us for a visit!
:thumbsup2
Wow, I just got finished with Disney's bio, and now I am dying to visit that site. Now that I know they have Starbucks, I think a pilgrimage is in order.
We'll go together.:goodvibes

Soarin...I'm so glad to hear about the 'new guy!' Sounds like DH and me...we would talk on the phone for hours and hours (this was before the days of texting!)

No bomb was found at the high school, like I thought, but my DS said they made everyone stay locked in all day, and pretty much nothing happened all day. They did move the basketball practice to a different location.

DH is exhausted. He's had to get up every night in the middle of the night to go run his car, to make sure it starts in the morning. He's beat from doing it all week, and all last week too.

Oldest DS is housesitting for a family that lives on 80 acres way out in the boonies. It was about 2:00 a.m., and he heard scrunching in the snow, and someone was knocking on the window. He grabbed a shotgun that they homeowner had, and went to investigate. Turns out it was a moose eating a tree branch, and the tree branch was touching the window and was making a tapping sound.

Oh...and my oldest son also bought his first car today! After looking around for a few weeks, for a 'cool' used car, and realizing there are a lot of dishonest people out there, he found what he called an 'old person's car' :rotfl2: ...a Ford Taurus wagon. I told him I thought it would be great for camping gear, or basketball stuff, or his dog...so he thought about it and decided to buy it.
Thanks!!:goodvibes I haven't put the phone down all day!!:cool1:

Glad there was no bomb!!! What a relief!! And congrats on your DS getting a car!!!!!!!

ugh... don't remind me. Barely 2 months ago, I was able to get a cheap 25k mile round trip ticket to Montreal. Now I'm lucky if I can get it for 60k.

I'm cashing in AA miles like it's going out of style. I think I might go to Australia in First Class for a long weekend, just to burn miles.

I just finished dumping out the rest of my Delta miles getting magazine subscriptions for friends of mine across the US.

I am also cashing in my Continental miles on Copa to go to Guatemala and Panama in May.

k. congratulations on that. a boss of mine (physicist with inventions in the smithsonian) once told me that it is really great if you're smart, but it is even better to be lucky. you have managed both.

I am definitely blessed. That's for sure.

Your boss seems wise in more ways than one... book smart if he's a physicist, and street smart from that statement. It's a mix that I wish were more prevalent in our society.

I have found Air France to be the best for me lately.......Petroleum club (all hail the despoilers of the planet). haha

AA has a nice flight direct to Moscow and then on to Australia.....breaks the long hump into 2 chunks......but sadly.....it isn't Singapore Airlines (my current favorite).

Me too. Sadly it seems like that mix is slowly fading from society.:sad2:

Couldn't resist.

...cruise line that promised to take her to the sonoran desert, but she realized that cacti aren't filled with balloons and so she grabbed someone elses' knapsack only to realize their grand piano was missing 3 keys...

I took the Air France narrowbody caribbean jet out of Miami a few months ago. Interesting experience. Flying Air France domestic first out of a US airport is not something most would expect. A320 to Guadeloupe, and from there a charter hop back to Tortola.

I haven't yet done Singapore, but I have heard quite good things about them. They're one of the only 5 star airlines in existence. I've flown Emirates, and they're quite good... they're also a 5-star airline, and it's truly a level of pampering that I don't think has been seen since the glory days of air travel.

fascinating guy. he was born in iraq, and when his father was imprisoned for being jewish, his mother took him (baby) and his sister to israel. he's a little over 6' tall, slender, and completely bald. there was always a tremendous amount of interest in him at customs, etc. in airports.

you can look him up...sass (or sasson) somekh.
