Holy crap, check out my new tag!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Dare I even ask where that came from? :lmao:

I think I will say goodnight now. Long, nerve wracking couple of days ahead. I know I've said it a couple times already, but please keep my close family member in your prayers. Thanks to those of you who are praying for her already.

Well, the fun has begun. I used to cringe when the news would come out about wrongdoing from yet another Republican, over and over and over. It's starting with Blagoyavich. Hehehehe.

:)

Do any of you recall that Michelle Obama got a $300,000 a year, made-up vice presidency at the University of Chicago right after her husband was elected to the Senate and promised to earmark $1 million in federal funds for the hospital (which he did)? How is that any different at all than what Gov. Blagojevich was arrested today for doing — trading in political favors for personal profit? Really, how is it any different?
:confused3 It's the teflon family again...

I have news.. yes.. GOOD NEWS!!
HR called me. It doesn't get approval until the board meeting on the 17th *night*, but on the 18th (for two days) I have a job as the ELA interventionist for the remainder of the school year! Yes... that means my benefits are back! I've been saying major prayers before each hockey game.

ELA interventionist probably means no classroom and a floater, but I DON'T CARE! I don't know the school, either, but I DON'T CARE! The answer to my prayers just floated down! THANK YOU, GOD!:worship: :cheer2:

:yay: Great news, #1hm!!!!

NO KIDDING...I love my steak, and no PETA people are gonna tell me I can't have it. I am all over that (@#*$&)$@# organization.

We have 2 dogs and they stay in the backyard...one of them will bark at pretty much anything that moves....like....leaves. Needless to say Nanook is not the quietest dog in the world, but there are lots of dogs in the neighborhood so it's no biggie. I came outside one day mid-afternoon and there were PETA pamphlets plastered on my front door, apparently because I'm being cruel to my dog by having her outside....on a perfectly sunny spring day in Texas. Anyway, There was a number for a PETA headquarters on the pamphlets so I called them and told them that if I caught them on my property again I would shoot first, ask questions later, as per the castle doctrine in Texas, I viewed them as an imminent threat to my home, property, and safety.

They haven't been back since.

On another note...have any of you guys seen these new commercials from a group of Al Gore fans claiming that there is no such thing as clean coal technology? Makes me want to puke.... They're about as bad as WWF, with their sad-eyed hollywood actors claiming that the polar bears need our help, so please send them money. We actually called their number and when they answered, we asked them if the money we were donating was specifically going to go to help polar bears, because we wouldn't want to help save any of the not-so-cute creatures that are ACTUALLY ENDANGERED, as opposed to the cute fuzzy polar bears who appear to be having more sex than ever before, as they've had a 400+% increase in their population over the last 2 decades....they hung up.

Nothing like ruffling the feathers of a few misinformed idiots to start your day:rotfl2:

I love my steaks, too. I don't have to worry about PETA getting me for having animals outside. I ahve my SIL who thinks we are bad for letting ours play in the pen that wraps around two sides of the 30 x 40 shop outside. She would rather we be like those that crate theirs for a majority of the day so they don't run through the house like crazy. Yes, I use crates, too. But, not for a majority of the day when I'm there.

On the Al Gore, yes there was even a letter to the editor today praising those that told the "truth" about clean coal.

Hi y'all. Good news/bad news

Good news: My daughter's cheer team won 1st place at their competition this weekend!

Bad news: Her nose was broken during the practice right before they competed. She was a trooper and did compete. She's a base and the flyer slipped and her foot hit Rie right in the nose. The doc said she may or may not need surgery. We have to wait 10 days to see if her septum moves back into place after the swelling goes down. As for the break, it should heal fine on it's own.

:yay: on the competition. on the nose. It must be the year for broken noses. DD broke hers the first week of school in cheer class. She is a back spot and "only saw red" as the flyer hit. It was the girls shirt. She barely bled (the surgeon said it bled higher up:confused3 _) but it was definitely crooked. She had surgery 6 days later. If yours has surgery, watch for the versaid (spell?). DD just giggled and giggled and kept saying "WOWWW". She even had the anaestesiologist laughing. :rotfl2:

Goodnight and prayers for your family member.

Interesting.

Bush Says Creation 'Not Incompatible' With Evolution
President says in televised interview the Bible is "probably not" literally true and that a belief God created the world is compatible with the theory of evolution.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2008/12/09/bush-says-creation-incompatible-evolution/

When I hear stuff like that about GWB not believing in the Bible 'literally' - I wonder what the full transcript states, although I do trust Fox's ability to summarize more than some of the other networks. I do agree with GWB on the creation/evolution connection - it always bewilders me that the evolutionists won't even recognize that, in terms of micro-evolution, us insipid creationists do agree with them.

re: ayres - "don't know him. never talked to him."

re: wright - "wasn't listening to him."

re: blogoyovich - "didn't talk to him.'

hmmmmmm..........

Several someones have mentioned this before but I'll say it again - for a smart guy, he doesn't know much or talk much or pay attention much....

Isn't it nice to hear the real story finally!?

Hmm indeed!

Just got in from hockey practice. The roads are HORRIBLE! That being said, its really sinking in.. WE MADE IT! Never missed a mortgage payment, never missed *ok, never 30 days late* with a bill, family fed, kept them in their activities... WOO OHOOOO! As to what my job actually is, the more I think about it the less I know. THe title has "my job is being paid with title one funds" written all over it - which means, it could be anything. I know the district just got another batch of money released to them. I'm just extremely happy! The school is in a worse area than where I was, but I can make a difference anywhere!

Prayers out to those who are sick and caring for the sick. I see FFM posted the flu. Hopefully this north wind will kick it away from our house!

Deb>> When DH was going to work today he said he knew I'd be called back today. This is the same person who has been talking doom and gloom so much I stopped listening or I'd go insane. (ok, I admit it, I was going insane!) God listened and answered.

Thank you to everyone who prayed and kept me sane!:cloud9: :grouphug:

I love hearing answers to prayer --- "The school is in a worse area than where I was, but I can make a difference anywhere!" And I love that quote - you rock, Deb. We won't stop praying...

Dare I even ask where that came from? :lmao:

SD, I was wondering the same thing about SM's tag.

And we'll keep praying for your family and for you, too - remember, you don't have to take all this on yourself! You're just one person!

Prayers being said/sent.

Someone want to fill me in on what happened tonight? One of the threads is stranger than usual!... and they say hockey games only break out during fights. I swear it looks like a hockey game on one of those threads if they'd find a participating team. Instead it comes off as a desperate non comedy.

Warning for my conservative non-Christian friends: God talk. ;)
President Bush doesn't believe the Bible is literal? Hm.
When it comes to the Bible I'm of the opinion that either you believe all of it or don't believe any of it. You can't pick and choose. :confused3
I know some things are literal and some are figurative. But you can't say, 'I read the Bible but I don't know if I believe it but I'm a Christian'.
I do believe that animals and humans and viruses and everything else adapt. But I don't believe in evolution; I don't believe man evolved from apes that evolved from protoplasm. The Bible says God created, I believe it. Why would God lie? I know some will say that man wrote the Bible but God inspired it.
Besides, it's not instrumental in my faith. When I see God, if He says "I created evolution", I'll say, "So I was wrong. No big deal!" Doesn't affect my salvation. At all.
Anyway, now I'm sure I'll be blasted by some for being a creationist.:rotfl:

Vomitus, poo, pee, none of that bothers me at all. I'll tell you what does though. When someone hocks a loogie and swallows it instead of spitting it out *insert puking smiley* and when someone spits a long line of spit and sucks it back up. I gag just thinking about.

:grouphug: I'm so not the motherly type - God did good by not letting me have kids....

I am totally the motherly type but let me tell ya, if this throwing up doesn't let up soon there will be a Hilarie shaped hole in my front door as I bust through it. I need outta here!!! The last one to catch this is my middle child and he started up this evening. So now everyone in my family is sick and throwing up, except me. All three kids and the husband.

The worst one of all is, of course, the 6 foot tall 35 year old. :lmao:

Yeah, what you said -- in reference to my comment about micro-evolution, I do mean the concept of adaptation. We humans have done lots of adapting over these past centuries - no biggie there.

and as someone who has hocked up her share of loogies over the past couple of weeks, I hear ya!

You need to stay from those mean old germs! More hugs sent your way - the long-distance, germ-free kind :grouphug: :grouphug:
