Good grief. I'm done for the day. Battling with libs is exhausting.

Ok, here's the link to the thread:

And I am wearing my double-reinforced flame suit. Hoping the rivets hold. :)

:headache: wow... that's just so tempting, though!!! I will take your advice, though. And... I am calling it a day. Can't be tempted if I'm asleep, right!

 Just look at it with humor. What else can you do? I always think of Harry Potter's spell 'Riddikulus'.

For those that have not read Harry Potter  . Here's an explanation:

Riddikulus is a spell that is used in defence against a Boggart. It causes the creature to assume a form that is humorous to the caster, thereby counteracting the Boggart's ability to terrorize. Boggarts are defeated by laughter, so forcing them to assume an amusing form is the first step to defeating them.

:upsidedow

LOL. And these are the same people who told us for the past eight years that we couldn't mention Clinton, or his mistakes, because he was no longer in office. Hypocrites. :rotfl2:

Oh that is funny! :rotfl:

DH brought home a movie and as usual, I didn't want to watch it because he has such bad taste in entertainment. :rotfl:
He brought home Fireproof. Okay, I admit it. I sniffled; it was a good movie.

I go away for one day and we're on page 2????

We're having a "movie night" at church this weekend with that film. DH and I are really looking forward to it.

BIG NEWS-I may be going back to teaching!!! Our Pastor called the other night and asked me to sub yesterday. I've done that before when they've needed help. Sadly, it appears that one of our teachers may have to leave before the end of term. He asked if I would consider finishing out the year and helping them out.

Talked to DH last night about it. He's not sure if he really wants me going back to work--but the church does need help. We don't know why the teacher has to leave-I'm praying it's not a health issue. She seems to be a nice person, young, single-very athletic. She called yesterday to say thank you to me for helping out. Really sweet.

I admit it-I want to go back. I miss the classroom. Without kids of my own, my students were my children. DH is old fashioned though, he likes to be the provider, head of the house and all that. Pastor knows that, and he's going to meet with him a bit tomorrow before the movie. Hopefully, he'll be able to convince him that it's really a good thing!

Hey, libs! I don't listen to either Rush or Beck! Not all conservatives do. But I bet you listen to Chris Matthews!

OK… now that I’ve taken care of that..

Today’s e-mail from my coworker: :teeth:

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way. Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.
You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.

Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens.

We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain.

You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.
We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Toyota Prius you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.
We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya, or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot.

Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.
Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you the Alaskan ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,
John J. Wall
Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Barbara Streisand & Jane Fonda with you.

:yay:  :yay:

Where the heck do I sign?!?

On a similar note, my Dad who would be the first one to say calm down you're overreacting - just told me he's looking for a house in another country to live. He mentioned Costa Rica? :confused3

This is a man who is very level headed, but he is not happy with the healthcare portion of the bill and has lost all confidence in the once free market. So, he mentioned selling his properties, liquidating his assets and moving the heck out of here.

Is anyone else hearing anybody else talk like this?

Isn't that depressing? :sad2:

I'm not leaving without a fight.

OTOH, DW has been pressing me to accept an available transfer overseas for a few years and do the expat thing for a while. We lived in Europe for 7 years total and had a great time.

I can choose from Singapore, Dubai, Brazil, Korea (not frackin' likely) & Norway.

It would be a great experience for the boys to live and learn in another culture.

I am leaning towards Singapore but have been reluctant to pursue the transfer (I have parents in declining years and I would miss this time with them).

Regardless, it would only be for 2-3 years.........I dunno.....

My DD did study abroad last year in Hong Kong. She told me this week, if there is any way possible, she would love to live there. Mom and Dad were not to thrilled to hear that, needless to say. Luckily, she plans on being a permanent student :) and her bf is in a Ph.D. program for 2 or 3 more years, so I doubt if that move will happen soon.

I heard that Singapore is wonderful.

Love the email!

Also like the other thread posted here - will have to send our pictures in for the project.

Raining and cold here today. The West needs rain but kinda sick of it.

Any guesses on the next Sec of Commerce nominee??

Hey Dolce and JimmyJ.

GIG EM!:thumbsup2

In other news, what is the total body count on cabinet positions right now?

Dubai sounds interesting. We had friends who taught in Saudi and once their kids reached a certain age, they were forced to ship them to boarding school in another country. Would Dubai do the same thing?

I'm not leaving without a fight either, but if they start to go to the National Security Force and mandatory indoctrination, er I mean community service - then I might leave.

The NSF is a slippery slope and historically I think we all know where that road leads. :scared1:

This thought has been rolling around my mind for a couple days.

If the Rep were completely shut out of the writing of the bill then is that not taxation without representation?

I didn't trust Obama before the election but this closed door policy making is really causing me to fear what is happening in our government. How far will it go? Is it so far fetched to think that the country would be so divided and inflamed that it would come to, God Forbid, a country that is actually split? We have done it before with England. It could happen again if the people decide they won't take it anymore.

Someone needs to fight this.

thank goodness we still have the SC, at least for now...

I just heard a little sound bite for Shimkis (SP) basically saying he didn't like the stuff added to the bill. Is he one of the ones who voted for it the 1st time?

I don't listen to Rush, either, only because I don't have radio signal in this house.

Mr Man, I'd pick Costa Rica (ooh, warm weather and the beach!) or Singapore. I was in Europe for 3 months and loved it, DH was there with his parents for 6 years and loved it. So you could do Norway.
Hopefully someday when I'm an Army officer I'll get stationed in Germany.

As for the email, he is a real law student and he did write that.:thumbsup2 Too bad we can't really offer that and do it.

Hey, did you guys all get the memo that if you gripe about the government, then it means you feel hopeless and are in a constant state of despair??:lmao: :rotfl2: Poor libs, they assume since they were so miserable the past eight years, then we are left with no other choice than to travel the same road that they did. They really don't get it.;)

I love that e-mail, Dolce. I passed it on to a friend who razzed me mercilessly during Bush's 8 years. I called it "the first of many to come in Operation Payback." I actually adore her and we enjoy the mutal teasing but I have to say after 8 years of it, there is a little evil piece of me that is going to enjoy givng her a taste of her own medicine. ;)

They really would enjoy watching us be miserable. I think it adds to their joy of being in power. Sort of like "well if they are all upset and down then we must be doing something right?" :confused3 Whatever they need to make them happy I guess.

:rotfl: I read something someone had written with those same sentiments last night. It was totally off-mark, since I had to read aloud to DH (he wanted to know why I had been LOL) the inane comments that the believers were memorializing in their posts. He laughed, too.
