Connections "Reward Savings" program ???'s

The following was clipped from Mary Waring's Mousesavers site, and I hope one of you "connections" experts can give me the details on this :

a "reward savings" program that gives you 20% rebates when you buy restaurant gift cards (limit 10 per restaurant per family per year) for Outback Steakhouse, Bennigan's, Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Olive Garden and more

What is this "reward savings" thingy, and what do these gift cards for these restaurants listed cost ? Are they like the Q&C vouchers where with proper planning you can get a significant discount on the meal, or are they just good for face value ? Also, what can the "reward savings" be used for ? Could I purchase 10 gift cards for Outback and then use the 20% "reward" toward the purchase of Q&C vouchers or park tickets ? And could this scenario be done within the infamous 30-day trial period ;-) ..

This may have possibilities, as I like Outback & Disney .

The gc cost $10 each (and are worth $10)...and you will get $2.00 from each one you order credited back to the credit card you used to register with Connections. So you save 20%.

Ditto to what DMRick posted, except you will not see the 20%(or $2) credited back to you for 2-3 credit card billing cycles, so doing this within the 30-day trial period is not possible. My experience so far has been that it does take up to 3 billing cycles to see the rebate on your cc statement, and I am not aware of any way to take the rebate in the form of anything other than the credit to your credit card.

I've gotten the rebate both times when doing the 30 day trial. It came within one billing period..but still after I had cancelled. Same with the free $25 gift card for toys r us. I got the form, filled it out (using the number I did have with connections), and got the gift card, even though I was no longer a member.

WOW, DMRick! I am obviously doing something wrong. Do you order online or by phone? I always place my order online, so maybe that is the problem.

I have ordered both ways, on line and on phone. I prefer online, as the people on the phone seem to often be a few cards short of a deck.
