Hello,

I was just wondering if there were connecting Verandah rooms?? We are in a cat 5 (free upgrade :cool1: ) this May(Wonder). Well, we are planning a May 2007 (Magic) cruise with family and friends, and I got to thinking it'd be great to have connecting rooms with Grandma and Grandpa. And of course it would be great to have Verandah rooms! Its not that big of a deal, even if we are down the hall a bit..but it would be neat if they were connected.

Absolutely there are! We were in adjoining (which is what I think you mean here - two staterooms with a door shared between them?) CAT 6's our first cruise, and then adjoining CAT 3 and CAT 4 for our second. It was great to have the link - especially for when we put the kids to bed and grandma/grandpa were in their room for the night and we could keep the door open (a big topic of discussion on another thread right now!)

Cool!!! Yes, that is what I meant!! We've had adjoining/connecting rooms at WDW with family and it did make is SO much easier..and really...made the rooms seem that much bigger!! We left the doors open for the most part, except for taking naps/or sleeping in the evening. I'll try to talk them into a cat 5 or 6!! Thanks!! :flower:

We stayed in 7516 and 7518 they were great!!
Good for you on the bump up

We're staying in 6640 and 6642 in Dec., they are connecting cat 7's with veranda's.

Sorry flexmom.....goofygal is correct....the term for cabins with the interior door is CONNECTING. ADJOINING means cabins that are just next to each other with no interior door. DCL uses the terms this way.

Others have posted that they said they wanted adjoining and meaning connecting, but were disappointing when the rooms were only next to each other. If we all use the correct terms it is less confusing for everyone. Not trying to be a know it all but just trying to shed some light.

So...can the partition between connected staterooms, on the verandah's be removed, or moved to make a larger verandah? :)

From what I've seen, the dividers between the verandas are fixed and cannot be moved to create a huge veranda. It would be cool though. At Nassau, we were docked across from RCCL's Monarch of the Sea and it appeared as though their veranda dividers swing entirely open so that verandas connect. Can anyone confirm this?

We have connecting rooms 6122 and 6120....I dont know about RCCL but i know on princess they have door between each veranda, but i do wishthey had them on disney maybe they will add them to the new ship there somewhat planning.... :cloud9:

It's a solid, non-movable divider ... but if you're standing and leaning on the rail it's easy enough to see/talk around it.

We had connecting cat 6 staterooms (6568 and 6570?) on the Wonder last September ... it was great begining able to pop between the rooms w/o having to go out into the hall ... like we had to do at WL ... they either don't have connecting rooms or none were available.

Just wanted to add that it is not just Disney that uses the Connecting/ajoining term. DH is the Director of Sales for a big hotel and that is how all the hotels differentiate the two. He says it happens all the time. People ask for ajoining and really mean connecting. He now makes sure when booking a reservation for someone that they are asking for the right thing! Just wanted to add that just incase soemone book a room at wdw with small children and doesn't want them in a room without it being connected. I always double check! :cool1: I

We are sailing on the 9/29 cruise (3 day) and have cabins 6074 and 6072. Connecting Cat 6's. Each cabin is 316 Sqft so with two of them, it will be comfortable for our family of 5.
