Connecting two reservations? Site request?

Hi all,

I have asked an incarnation of this question before, so bear with me, as I'm still working things out.

We have two reservations, one arriving on the night of Dec. 4 (site only) and then a separate reservation with a package/plus dining starting Dec. 5.

I'm not sure how to go about handling the site request. We would love to be in 1500, but if not, I'm cool with it, or at least I'm going to do my best to be. I'm also willing to move if we can get 1500 for the 11 night package but not the 1 night site only on the 4th. (But it would be great if we didn't have to.)

Is this just awfully complicated and obnoxious for the Fort staff? Would we be better off connecting our reservations and making that first night a part of the package? Is that possible? It would end up costing us about $100 or so more for the dining plan for that night, and I know that since it is a Saturday night check in (our flight arrives at 5:30 on the 4th) that we are less likely to get our choice of sites.

What would you do? Also, if I keep the two reservations separate, do I send in two separate site requests or send in one letter that notes the two different reservation numbers? (And I do realize they are just requests and not guaranteed.)

Thanks for your patience (and understanding, if you understood my question!)

I have split reservations all the time. Put in a request for 1500 and ask not to be moved. Put both reservation numbers on the same fax.

However, when you arrive if you are in 2000 for your first night, then ask them if it will be possible to move to 1500 the next morning.

That's really all you can do.

Thanks. Exactly what I needed to know! The countdown is on! 12 days!

One more question. We check in on Dec. 4. I'm assuming we have to go back to the check-in counter the next day to check in for the 5th. Is there any way to check in for BOTH on our arrival so we can head to the parks first thing in the morning and have our package ready to go? I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyway.

The 3 or 4 times I've had multiple reservations, I've had to check-in for each one on the starting day. I usually do this early in the morning and it's very quick.

Yep, you must check back in, but you can do that as early as 630 in the morning.

We are here now. Had a 1 night+ 20 nights. Had to check out/back in on day2. But we did online checkin for both res and it was quick and painless. '

Cm said it actually helps them and makes it easier to leave us in the same site with online checkin. Not sure how true that is in general but checkin was MUCH faster this time.

Do you have the link to online check in? The front desk didn't have the link for me earlier this evening. Thanks.

They will email it to you about a week before your arrival date.
or log into your account at disneyworld.com and then mouse-over the "My Disney Vacation" link. A dropdown will appear and you can select the Online Check-in option.

Yup - we got email notification for both our reservations. As long as Disney has your email address on file, you should get it. If not, you can log in online - I think about 10 days prior to your first check in.
