connecting rooms

On or upcoming trip, we are a party of 7 staying at ASMo in adjoining connecting rooms. It is one reservation but if our DDP credits are attached to our room keys, will they divide our credits among the 2 rooms or will all the credits be on both rooms? I hope that made sense, it made my brain hurt trying to type it so it made sense I am not looking forward to keeping track of who ate from which room and what our balance is for each key...

Oh, this is good news! When did they change this??

I was there in '05 (free dining), One reservation, 2 A, 3 C, connecting rooms at POP.

I remember it being a hassle if I didn't have my DH's card to buy more than one Adult meal.

CM: "Your key says one adult"
Me: "Yes, but my DH is right over there with our 3 C"

I would have to go get his card to check out the entire meal.


I'm glad to hear they changed this, that was annoying. (Of course, it was free, so I didn't complain too much!!)

As far as I know, it was always this way, again, as long as it was a single reservation with multiple rooms.

UGh I just spoke to a CM who told me that each member of our party would have their own card with only their own credits on it... I asked when did they start doing it that way and he said that is how it's always been... Since I know that isn't how it worked when I was there last fall, I am hoping he was just wrong. I am going to hate having to keep track of 7 cards and remembering who ate from what and when. I hate it when you get a CM who doesn't know an answer so just wings it and acts like they know what they are talking about. I guess I'll call back in a bit and hope I get lucky!

Therefore, our party had two cards which were labeled 1A 1C, and three cards for 1A 2C.


Every meal became an adventure with the cards. (And this was before they even separated Adult and Child TS credits!!)

It was the biggest pain during CS meals because it's always easier to split up with the kids while ordering.

Oh well, I'm going again in August... (FREE Again!) so again, I won't complain much about this minor inconveince. But I am a bit bummed because I thought this was changed. (I just checked our reservation, and yes, it is 1 reservation with the adults and children separated between the connecting rooms.)

Oh well, enjoy your trip, and be sure to have the correct cards when paying!!

As others have mentioned, when we had 2 rooms, even with one reservation, they divided the credits up per room. It was my understanding that was "policy" not just a "practice" left to CM discretion. Credits are assigned to room, not reservation. I'd love to know if this is untrue. If so, then I would expect to be able to, upon request, get credits assigned to all of our key cards regardless of which room we are in as long as it is one ressie.

Can anyone else shed some light by sharing their experiences...???

We had connecting rooms under one reservation, and the credits were divided into two rooms. 1 A, 2 K on one and 2 A 1 K on the other.

At the time, the credits were not technically divided between A and K. (2005), so when they checked out they would just take 3 A and 3 K from one card. I have reports that now you would have to present one card from each room at each meal.

I have also heard reports of requesting that the credits from both rooms be linked, but have not done this myself, so not sure if it can be done.

If you think about it, it makes sense to divide by room, in the same way that the door keys do not unlock both rooms.

This just happened to us too & it's a big PAIN. Especially when you get to the park the first day & the credits for one of the rooms isn't working. I had to get a manager at Pecos & Kona to approve the use of more credits at each meal than what the card stated until I arrived back at BW to have it fixed. It is also very hard to keep track of how many credits are left on each when you split up throughout the day.

DH seemed to be the snack runner. His card ran out early on. He paid for several OOP and we had a bunch left over on mine at the end of the trip. We seemed to be okay at meals because we were usually together or I remembered to give him my card too. Also, it was 2005 and there was no problem with ordering adult meals for children.

We are doing the same thing this Sept except this time our party is 2A, 2C and 1 infant. I forgot about how much I hated that

Late September of last year we had the same experience, two rooms connecting, one reservation, split dining credits. The room assignment had us split up with me, 12 year old, 8 year old in one room, DH in the other room. We kept close tabs on our credits as we spent them and it wasn't too difficult, but we also kept together the whole time. It could become a nightmare if your group split up for some of the meals. We had connecting rooms on one reservation in May 2006. We had 2Adults 1 Child in one room with 1Adult 2 Children on another. Table Service was fine but CS could be a pain especially when we split up. But I am not complaining with the free dining in Sept. Just ask questions and make sure there isn't a mix up at the end of the day. We were incorrectly charged extra TS in Norway for dinner. But I called the next morning before we headed out and got it all straightened out.

Even though we were limited to ordering one adult CS with the card labeled 1 adult, there was nothing to distinguish the remaining CS from children or adult on the receipts. (I hope that makes sense) Does anyone know if this has changed?

That was what I meant by it being a bad situation if you split up. Anyone could use anyone else's card for dining credits, but how many credits were left on each room became quite a mystery towards the end of the trip. We pretty much stayed together for our meals and DH carried the cards to purchase the meals, but by the end we had to use both cards to finish up the credits for a couple of meals. It all worked out and we had a bunch of snacks left over so we used them to buy a few big boxes of Mickey cookies to take home as souveniers.

Great thread This will be useful when we go on our 1st trip. But I don't understand why we were told that we had to do 2 separate reservations when we requested connecting rooms (one in my name and one in dh's). She said that each room required it's own reservation, so we paid 2 $200 deposits.
