Connecting rooms or a veranda and an inside?

Traveling with my sister, my brother-in-law and my two nieces, 14 and 8 during spring break '05 on the seven day eastern.

Originally booked two connecting cabins, Cat. 9 on deck 2. But have switched to a 7 and 11 (navigator veranda and the inside cabin directly across from it) on deck 6. (6636 and 6637) I had some concerns about noise on Deck 2 as we were in the aft, "noisy" section. There is not enough in the budget to both have verandas and we wanted to be together.

Now I am "second guessing" myself. Did I make a mistake in giving up the connecting cabins with both having a porthole for the veranda and no porthole?

Has anyone traveled with family and gotten an inside and veranda room? Is it possible to get an extra key or keys for the veranda room so the inside people have access also?

My TA has been wonderfully patient with me but also seems to be able to work miracles as far as getting things changed when I change my mind.

I'm eager to hear the answers on this. We booked an inside cabin and the verandah room across the hall for a 7 day cruise. It' almost time to send in the final payment, and I'm starting to second guess myself, too.

Well I'm not sure my answer will be much help but we had connecting rooms on our Eastern and we were able to get keys for each door with no problems at Guest Services. We had a key to both doors for hubby and I and they were fine with it.

Honestly I don't think you made a mistake....1 verandah to sit on is nicer in my opinion than 2 windows.

Thanks for the info on getting extra keys. That makes me feel better about the decision since those assigned to the inside cabin can be provided easy access to the veranda.

I have done the same as you and booked a cat.8 across the hall from a cat. 11 on deck 5. I have not second guessed myself at all. Not only did I save $1000 from our tab in a cat.4 but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of having our kids in a nice, dark room. Hopefully they'll sleep a little later!! We have early risers!! My advice would be to stick with your plan and don't second guess yourself anymore.
You can get keys to each other's rooms by the way!! Have fun!!

We booked a Cat 7 for our cruise this past Christmas. Our group is going again (6 DIS families), and Mom and Dad will be staying in a Cat 5. DD-17 and DD-13 will be staying in a 11 right across the hall.

On our 2003 cruise, the girls basically woke up, took a shower, got dressed, and then were gone with their friends (DIS'ers) until 1 or 2 a.m. -- We will enjoy the veranda, and they will not care what they are sleeping in!!
