Connecting rooms in Pop Century

I think I have seen (somewhere) that there will be connecting rooms in Pop Century. Can anyone confirm this? I really wish Disney would use Queen size beds. Doubles are just too small!!

I'm not sure about the connecting rooms. Double beds are used in the Value Resorts because the space to move around in the rooms would be too cramped if they used queens. (It might even violate fire codes.) Bigger rooms, bigger beds, bigger price

If you want a queen sized bed, you need a delux. Mods and Values have double sized.

I don't think the connecting rooms have anything to do with bed size--they are for families with more than 4 people who need to stay at a value resort. We have a family in my subdivision with 5 boys, ages 4,5,6,8 and 10. They almost booked the All stars last year but CRO could not guarantee connecting rooms. I'm hoping they will get a better answer with Pop Century, it sounds more large-family friendly. (And no, they can't afford the DVC villas).

Deluxe Resorts can have doubles too, I was surprised to see that in a newly rennovated concierge room at BC, we had 2 double beds.

Hi, we are booked at Pop Century for Christmas week. Two rooms (requested connecting). We were told they DO have connecting rooms, and more than originally planned since it is a request many families have made.

A couple of years ago our family of 2 adults and 3 kids had 2 rooms booked at POFQ and CRO told us, as well as our confirmation read "guaranteed connecting rooms for families". CRO told us it meant we would be guaranteed connecting rooms as they will not split up 2 parents and kids. The confirmation read "guaranteed" also. They told us it was guaranteed as we couldn't all fit in 1 room and they wouldn't split up families. I think sometimes it comes down to who you speak to at CRO and how knowledgable they are. We didn't end up using the reservation as we got a great rate at Poly concierge (room had a daybed so it slept 5) so we never tested it. You can bet I would have raised a stink if they had tried to split us up at POFQ.
I think Disney does a great job in keeping families together.

Thanks for all the info. We are planning for my sons' graduation. He want us all to go to Disney! We are thinking about a Deluxe. But then the money issue comes in.... Just have to wait and see. Thanks everyone. Have a Disney Day!!

Boy, that would annoy me! Spending all that $$$ & on concierge too, only to find 2 doubles! Even WL has queens.

Why do you think they put in doubles? Are the rooms smaller? I thought WL & AKL had the smallest rooms of all the deluxes.

I had always heard from CRO, like "all4wdw", that if there are children in the second room that they will guarantee a connecting room. The only things that changes this is if there are more than 2 adults. Then is will not be guaranteed. Disney does not want unescorted minor children in a room and will do everything they can to make sure that does not happen.

Just spoke to Disney travel and they confirmed that we can have guaranteed connecting rooms because we are two adults and four children at Pop Century this coming February!

Yes, there are connecting rooms. I just booked an extra room on Friday and requested a connected room and the 'wonderful' CM told me " Oh yes, I have already put connecting rooms in for you!" She was wonderful. So according to her, there are such rooms.

Hey everyone... I'm not going crazy!! The following is from Mary of Mousesavers.com. She had a report on her newletter this month.

Rooms at Pop Century are 260 square feet, with two double beds or one king bed, a table and two chairs, vanity area and sink with separate bathroom, 27-inch color television, in-room wall safe, telephones with voice mail and data port. About half of the rooms will be connecting (meaning there is an interior door between rooms, which is helpful for larger and extended families who book multiple rooms). This resort is priced the same as the All Star resorts, with rack rates beginning at $77 per night in the off-season.
