Will Bell Services Hold Luggage without a Stay?

For our upcoming trip, we're staying at a Universal hotel, but I was thinking about stopping by the Cake bake shop for breakfast before we head to the airport on our departure day. Would bell services at the Boardwalk be willing to hold our luggage even though we're not staying at a Disney resort? We would go straight from there to the airport.

They need your room number in order to confirm your stay. So no they won't.

I have never have been asked for my room number and it’s a good thing too because I would not know it since I arrive and then check in.

They have always given me a tag and I call bell services once I’m in the room and tell them the number on the tag.

Are you driving? If so can you not just leave your items in your car? We generally stop at Disney Springs on our way to the airport for lunch and our car is packed to the gills. We have never had an issue and BW parking lot is going to have a lot less people passing by your car.

On another note I’m sure you are aware that you are going the wrong direction to the airport :)

Yes they will. They don't want you dragging your luggage through the BW property. It presents a safety issue, and then an eyesore if you just leave it sitting around in the lobby or at the Cake Bake Shop (CBS).

I am not sure a breakfast at CBS is worth a detour. You will want to make a reservation on Open Table to make it easy to get into the BWI without any questions from the gate security CM.

No. You are not staying there so they will not
We will have to agree to disagree in this topic. @chiburple is a guest of the BW resort, and a guest at CBS.

Sorry but no they don't, and if the guest's room has not been assigned yet a guest will not know it either.

The OP isn’t staying at the Boardwalk, staying at a Universal Hotel. The Universal hotel will hold your luggage since you are staying there. Also Universal is way closer to MCO than WDW is so you are basically going west on I4 to get to WDW and then back east again to get to MCO.

@chiburple is wanting to stop at the BW resort on the morning of their departure for breakfast at CBS, and then head directly to the airport. That makes them a guest of the BW but just a morning guest, not an overnight guest.

I would think a Rideshare from the Universal Hotel to the BW, and then a Rideshare from the BW to the airport after a couple of hours at the BW, and at CBS then a Rideshare directly to the airport.

I sometimes leave my luggage at Bell Services of my Disney hotel on check out day, if it is past check out time but too early to leave for the airport. I don't have a room number to give them because I am checking out of the room.

Likewise, as PPs have mentioned, sometimes you leave your luggage at Bell Services on arrival day when you don't have a room number to give them because you have not received it yet.

I, personally, would not head from Universal to WDW on my way to the airport. As PPS have said, it's in the wrong direction. I would find the extra driving around to be tiring on a long day of travel.

So I make an Ohana reservation, I can use the pool at Poly or Storm A long Bay with a Beaches and Cream adr?

This is a totally false equivalency and a moot point anyway given you don’t have to be an overnight guest of a resort to utilize bell services there. As multiple ppl have said your reservation is not checked when you ask them to store bags.

He’s a guest of the CBS not a guest of BWI.

Bell Services is designed as an amenity for guests of that hotel so the basic answer is no. Whenever we've used them, we've been asked if we're guests of the resort. You might get lucky and no one checks your room number when you drop them off, we don't really know what they do once they take them. This also feels like a security issue for me. If just anyone can drop off a bag, that's not good.

I get wanting to check out a restaurant. Even when staying on property, it's a pain to have to go all the way back across WDW just to pick up bags. It's an extra Lyft or whatever, but your best bet is to store them with your Universal hotel, ride over and enjoy, then stop and pick up bags on your way back.

Ha Ha, No but you can leave your luggage at Bell Services while you enjoy paid dining options at the Polynesian or the YC/BC. Great false equivalence but keep trying...
