Connecting rooms, different reservations numbers, and online check-in

We booked two separate rooms for 4 adults total at All-Star Movies between 9/27-9/30, but I noticed in our itinerary (we booked through Delta Vacations) that Disney gave us a different reservation number for each room.

We would like to have connecting (or at least adjacent) rooms if possible (which we also stated to the Delta Vacations reservation agent), and I was wondering if we could request that during online check-in even if we have different reservation numbers. If that is not the case, should we check in at the regular desk to ensure connecting/adjacent rooms?

connecting is rooms that connect between the rooms.adjoining rooms are next to each other.

disney will probably not put adults in connecting rooms - they try to kept them for adults traveling with little ones

now adjoining you might get but sometimes disney has a strange version of this - not right next to you - but underneath or over you...

but all stars you should be at least in the same building.

Contact Disney and obtain a "travel with" number that will link your two separate reservations together. It's a number that you will not need to remember as this is primarily for internal use by the resort to try and keep two parties as close to each other as possible. The "travel with" number needs to be placed on both reservations. While it does not guarantee that you will have connecting rooms, it improves your chances of getting the rooms next to each other.

We've done this before with success and have even had connecting rooms.
As to your question about checking in online with linked reservations, I personally would not check in online and do so at the resort in person. I think it is easier to try to switch rooms if you don't get assigned connecting or adjoining rooms.

OP stated that she booked with Delta Airlines. This just like another other travel agent. The OP cannot call and get a travel with number. They cannot modify the reservation in any way. They can contact Delta and see if Delta can get a travel with number. If they had booked themselves with Disney, they could call and get the TW number.
