Connecting or Adjoining?? Which is which?

Hi All!
Can not for the life of me remember which is which to ask for- we are a family of five traveling with my Mom (who gets her own room) but we want to be able to go back and forth between rooms without going thru the hall- you know the magic door that connects rooms? What do you 'request'?

Connecting rooms have a door that connects them inside the room and adjoining room are just next to each other!!

Yep. You want to request connecting rooms.

The rooms with the door that "connects" makes them "connecting" rooms... that's the method i use to remember!

However, as a pp said, connecting (or even adjoining for that matter) rooms is just a request... 9 times out of 10 we do get them, however there was that one time at CBR where we had rooms next to each other (adjusting) but not connecting... i'm sure we annoyed people by leaving the flippy latch thing open so we could go back and forth w/out a key!

Right. We haven't gotten them twice when we requested them, but we have gotten them other times.

We have gotten them 3 out of 4 times. So the odds are good you will get connecting when asked for, but you have no way of knowing for sure until you get to WDW.

The only way to know for sure you will be all together in one space is to stay in a suite or villa.
